I love van der Sar, he’s my favourite gk ever. It might sound weird but honestly, if I had to build a gk in a lab, he’d come out like Edwin vd Sar. Good on the line, on crosses, good with his feet, excudes calmness (very important), coaches his defenders, tall yet flexible etc etc.. he had it all

Had to pause this when you were talking about Moscow, to go back and rewatch the final. What a night, should have won that game in the first half, but for Cech's brilliance. Man. For me he’s the best keeper United has ever had. He just brought a calmness to the team and never ever let us down. World class is thrown around for fun now when in reality there are only a few real world class players around nowadays, but this man was a world class goalie. Glad he’s doing well

I support Juventus since late 90's, i was surprised when i watched PL in early 2000 and saw Van der Sar playing for Fulham, with all due respect it's not his level, but it's good thing that Man Utd took him and put him back where he belongs, among the best of the best

First Good to see EVS recovered. Back then those years you all playing, united was playing with four captains out of 11 players on the field. What differentiates Rio and Edwin is both are leaders on the pitch. They read and manage every game starting at the back. United was lucky to have you.

I am a United fan since I can remember. Back when I was a kid, when I played Fifa, when Edwin played for Ajax then Juventus, I always transfered him to United. When he played for United in real life, years after, it was like a dream come true for me. He is one of my favourite united goalkeeper aside Schmeichel and De Gea

People talk about PL all time greats, and often put Pete S at the top, sorry for me VDS wins every time, was so much calmer, and i can only imagine how many more titles we would have won had we signed him instead of him going to Juve :( But class act, good to see him a lot better after his illness..
