Aggressive protests are taking place across the world, including on university campuses in the US and Canada, over Israel's strikes in Gaza after Hamas terrorists massacred 1,400 Israelis on October 7. Jews have been targeted, and the tone and tenor of the protests have at times been anti-Semitic. IndiaToday.in spoke to Gad Saad, a professor at Canada's Concordia University and author of two bestsellers, on the anti-Semitic protests on campuses and why anti-Semitism precedes Zionism or the formation of Israel.

A most informative interview. Thank you. I am Scots and when I lived in East London in the 1990s I rented a room in a Moslem household. I was given a pile of plastic plates to use. I was not allowed to use the fridge. I had to take my laundry to the launderette. None of this explained before I took the room so I soon found other accommodation. Now, retired and back in Scotland I find the First Minister, Humza Youssef, whose parents came from Kenya and made welcome and now whose second wife is Palestinian is running Scotland favouring always the Palestinians. He recently made a hate filled speech complaining that high offices in Scotland were held by ‘white’ people and he spat out the word ‘white’ every time he said it. Scotland is 97% ‘white’ so what did he expect. How many Scots are holding positions in Iran or Pakistan? There must be a not so hidden agenda why the left for many years have had a Palestine obsession.

Wow, that is sad and scary at the same time. What political correctness has done to many countries. Just as Professor Gad said about the spider. 😞 Just take the USA as an example now, where a lady that made a horrible post before and after October 7 was found to be the one in charge of adjudicating refugee cases at the immigration agency since 2019. 😖 One must certainly wonder how many with links to terrorists groups did she approved since then. Oh, and she wasn’t even fired, she was put on paid leave. I’m an immigrant myself and know many of the immigration processes. I’d said every case she approved must be thoroughly reviewed and investigated. Although I’m sure many terrorists have already crossed since 2021 when the border was left wode open. 😖

If you travel the world mate you'll find people of Scotish decent in every governing body mostly where fEuropeans have got foothole. Like Hong Kong, the Pacific Island, NZ Austrailia and in some countries where the Scotish have settled the indigenous people don't have a say in making laws nor the right to exist, just like in Isreal

@@drthomason7043 in Israel everyone has equal rights, including the 2 million Muslims that sit on their Supreme Court and are in the Knesset. So they literally make the laws. Now as far as the rest of the Middle East, there is no diversity or inclusion. But I guess you’d prefer a world of separation and segregation. If you have any lineage, aka “decent,” from a different area of the world you should be forced to live there. Wonder what genealogy will show all the Islamists who oppress the indigenous.

We need to understand it carefully first, otherwise we are fools! And it is this: There is no concept of "nation" in Islam! Islam is the umbrella under which nations stand. There is only Islam. For the “Kafirs/infidels” i.e. the rest of us, Islam offers only this - Loot, rape and murder, they call it holy jihad! (That is - Prescription if the infidels refuse to accept Islam. This is the philosophy which is the universal principle of Islam! Not understanding this is a tragic mistake that the rest of the world has been making for hundreds of years. The core of terrorism in this context is "belief" in the concept and description of "Kafir/infidel". Therefore, until all references to "Kafir/infidels" are removed i.e edited out of the Qur'an, All Muslims can 'correctly' be described as terrorists - even if they are not actively practicing terrorism. ( Why? - Because the only way to act as a "Muslim" when called upon is to follow the Quran !!! & What dos the Qur'an say ? You got it. } 56 Muslim nations have lately descended upon India seeking intervention ? What do they all have in common? Islam !!! The truth of the matter is that Islamic countries supported creation of a maze of tunnels in Gaza to help attack and destroy Israel, the core of which is - act of "terrorism"!!! Then --- on 7 October Palestine (Hamas/Islam) attacked. Such a gruesome, inhuman barbaric attack was carried out that even animals would not do such a terrible act out of their innate compassion !!! Now, The same terrorist mentality is coming to India ( Dressed in suits) looking for intervention. ( India has displayed stupidity in the past). They will only regroup and do it again at a more opportune time! They have hundreds of years of history that shows their methodology. Israel has no choice but to aim for the head of the snake.

The Anti-Jewish (and anti-Christian) stance of Islam actually far predates Israel's existence as a modern nation. It was in place long before 1948. I'm sure many Palestinians believe it is due to what they call Israel's "occupation" of Palestine but it already existed before modern Israel even came into existence.

It began in 627CE when Prophet Mohammad began attacking and committing genocide of Jewish tribes who lived in the Hijaz. At least the religion ur opposing so much and hating on so much and portraying as a totally different thing than it really is, prevents its followers from lying for ANY reason not only that but makes that as a VERY serious sin. I’m quoting: ‘Truth leads one to Paradise and virtue leads one to Paradise and the person tells the truth until he is recorded as truthful, and lie leads to obscenity and obscenity leads to Hell, and the person tells a lie until he is recorded as a liar. I want to thank you for this amazing interview with professor Saad. Its just very sad to see all the ignorance at the core of main universities students. I appreciate everything he shared, but I will go further to say that this is not a war to illuminate the intellects but a war that has to do with evil embeded in the heart of this generation. There is no justification for what they are advocating, the youth and whoever sides in support for Hamas. It seems as if for them October 7th never happened. As society, this should give us the chills to knowing these are the people who will attempt to lead the next generations. Terrible and loud ouch!!! I do have good news, as follower of Jesus-Christ. He told us about the character of the people in the last days and about the wars and rumors of wars, ethnicities vs each other, etc. But that's the reason He came so to give us hope and the opportunity through repentance of heart and forgiveness of sin to aspire to a more worthy future; and lead by His Holy Spirit into a new life aline with the godly design, into the image of God. Not more given into an animal nature of selfishness and selfdestruction. After all, it's a matter of the heart, a heart that needs to be transformed by the power of His love and His holiness. "You will come to me (God Almighty) and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will search for me. And when you search for me with all your heart, you will find me!" ~Jeremiah 29:12-13 🕴️❤️🇮🇱 🙏🕊🇮🇱

Jews were always hated in Europe and that is the reason they concocted a cock & bull story to come to Palestine and take over poor Palestinian land and do to the Palestinians the same Holocast that was done to them. How is it that the Jews can never ever live peacefully with their fellow contryman and have a single state with equal rights to all, like almost all democatic states rather than the Apartheid state that they have created with the largest concentration camp of 2.5million people being deprived of basic human rights from birth to death and when a few of them break out of the concentration camp and do a fraction of the atricities they have suffered since birth Oh that is big news and then, it is only October 7th that they have to talk about, that is the perfect excuse for the Jews to go and drop US bombs in US planes to kill millions. The Jews will never ever be able to live in peace with their Arab neighbours especially in about a few more decades when the US is no more a super power. Then the Jews will certainly get kicked out of Palestine and go where? back to Europe? By the way I am from New Zealand, I do not have a religion. Fortunatly not from Abrahamic religion all three of which are idiotic religions. What religions do is what the spider does to the brain, make you a zombie, believe stupid things and kill millions of your fellow contryman. All religions should be banned and the stupid books should be burnt. The Bible - Tora - Quran are all stupid books.

Genocide is generally defined as the intentional and systematic destruction of a racial, ethnic, religious, or national group. The rate of population growth alone does not determine whether an act constitutes genocide. The key elements involve the deliberate intent to eliminate a specific group, often through violence, displacement, or other harmful means. The demographic changes within the population may be one aspect, but the intent to destroy the group is the crucial factor in defining genocide.

This was very enlightening. Though I have not lived in the Middle East, I had my own negative experience with anti Semitism at Concordia University where Dr. Saad is teaching. It was circa 1995. I was attending a lecture on Pakistan, I believe. At the end of the lecture, the speaker asked for questions. Instead of questions, what he got was student after student from different Muslim countries getting up and expressing anti Semitic hatred. I was shocked and considered getting up and offering a counterargument; then I looked around and noticed the number of students surrounding me. Perhaps the number was about 100. I wondered how violent their reaction would be if I were to say what I wanted to say- namely that they just sounded like a bunch of biased, anti Semites. I decided not to speak. I don't know if I would have been attacked but to this day I regret not getting up to at least offer a counterargument.

Growing up in Los Angeles, surrounded by a loving community, I have never understood, Jew hatred, although I know it exists in Islam, and I have Muslim friends and I have never experienced it, perhaps because they are westernized, and they have overcome their outdated history of hatred. Just imagine if everyone changed their way of thinking,Gaza would be a beautiful place. Although at the present moment, I doubt that too many people are thinking about a two state solution. At least I don’t believe that Israeli’s are concerned about that right now right now they are focused on getting rid of Hamas. They do not want to destroy the Palestinian people, at least, most people agree on that, they are focused on getting rid of Hamas, Hezbullah, and all the terrorists that are targeting the citizens of Israel.

They bomb them. They trap them. Prevent them from moving. I condemn Oct 7th, but it's an event on a continuum in which Israel has committed it's share of the most grotesque of atrocities. Even if I think Gad is a bit of a Demagogue, He has the basic ethics correct and sees things objectively. I also appreciate how much India gave support to Jews and Israelis after the massacre. I keep on seeing reasons to appreciate and root for India.

A demagogue is giving irrational arguments. He is giving a very irrational lecture. So if you call him demagogue please show what is irrational in this

Lebanon in 1968 was a rich, dynamic and peaceful paradise of the Middle East. The people there were incredibly friendly. Beirut was jammed with tourists. A few short years later it was completely destroyed by war. That was Arafat's legacy. He sowed death and destruction everywhere he set up shop. He made the "palestinians" the most dreaded guests in the Arab world. He died a billionaire. His people still honor his memory.

Another question I have... almost all of North Africa used to be non-Muslim (various tribes of other religions). It was eventually taken entirely over by Islamic forces. Islam then began to show interest in pushing up into parts of Spain and Europe (many were killed & many enslaved even white European women). This was partly why some of the Crusades (which were far from perfect) were ordered (to push back against Islam). So why isn't anyone chanting "Free Northern Africa from Oppressive Islamic Occupation"?

Also, when people call for Israel to cease fire, why aren't they also telling Hamas to cease fire and release the hostages? Why dont' they also demand Hamas let their own people leave the conflict zones so they can escape and get aid? This is why when the only phrase I hear is "Free Palestine" I know I'm dealing with a one-sided & clueless mindset.

@switzerlandful because they hate jews and practice double standards. See obama invoking the "occupation" rhetoric after oct 7. Funny this moral relativism was nowhere when floyd was killed and in far less egregious circumstances then the 1200 israelis brutally murdered by jihadists. Same jihadists funded by the country he unsanctioned.

It may look so if you are truly ignorant of the history of conflict. This guy is using BS arguments, lies and selective history to make points that serves his agenda. he tried the same tactics on X and got debunked SO MUCH that he left crying and decided to "take a break". You should really pick up a history book instead of following IDF propagandist as unbiased sources for truth.
