This is so bad, Paul. They shoot Russians in the back if they don't fight. So few Russians believe in this fight. We need to stop treating Putin like a new paint job and put our hands on him. Allowing all these Russians to die is messed up.

It becomes so casual and pleasant when non-professionals are interviewing. Something about getting the story out not your own agenda that feels fresh. Digging, dreaming of a shower and longing for them back home. Four millennia of individual soldiers' experiences of war in one sentence.

If there is another interview with the guys....i'd like to know if they have had any interaction with foreign fighters, friend or foe... And how they, as Ukrainans, view them who comes there to fight with them or against them. Another question is, as a frontline unit, do they feel the West's support in their minds when they are in the trenches and bullets are flying... And how do they view the West's support....as politics, or genuine, or what...

Never forget a story I read early on about a 26 yo police officer near Kyiv that was interviewed while helping people escape the Russians. He talked about trying to reach his family and didn't hear anything. He drove to his home to find it blown apart and found his mother, brother, Grandmother, wife, and 1 yo daughter all killed. Yet he still kept on trying to help people.

I do have one question, if possible: remember when we were deployed, there was an address where our family could send stuff [most of the time, be waiting for us if we returned from outside the wire]. Do these guys have one? What would their platoon want? If not to them, is there a request list we could send to other military personnel in the "safe area" to boost morale? I remember sharing the boxes that came in with everyone. Guys always loved the Hershey's chocolate bars [even when you had to lick it off the wrapper hahaha[.

I get what u mean. When I went to my physicals for the med board, one of the people I had to see was a shrink. I thought we were having a normal good conversation. Afterwards I went to lunch. Went back to the ides building and the Dr report said I had severe ptsd, and a morbid sense of humor. Wtf? I thought we were having a nice conversation. I didn't realize how it was bad.

Yes, digging in. There was an oft overlooked reason why the Confederacy lasted as long as it did. Lee, and much as he is revered as an offensive commander, he was more commonly regarded by his own troops as the "king of spades". He struck when there was an opportunity, but he always dig into his positions---even more as the war progressed---and almost always (see: Antietam) secured an avenue of withdrawal. In fact, it was the cautiousness of Union commanders and saved the Confederacy from flawed offenses. But, I digress. digging in and providing lines of withdrawal is the key to survival in wartime.

Dear combat veteran, once in a while you share your thoughts and analysis of the conflict seen from a distance, which is very valuable and interesting to listen to for a non-military, one issue puzzling me is how Russia don't seems to have a "plan-b" which is difficult to understand, if this is something that is actually interesting, perhaps you one day could address this issue? If i had been Putin i had asked the people around me to develop solutions to different scenarios during the war, to me it seems like they haven't? Or am i wrong?

Putin tried to claim (among other things) that this war was about relieving oppressed ethnic Russians in Ukraine, but it's clear to me that Botsman is an ethnic Russian. He says "da,da,da" for "yes, yes, yes" where yes in Ukrainian is tak. He also needed help coming up with the word for country (krayina in Ukrainian, strana in Russian).

as I software dev living in Ukraine I would like to hear what are your toughs on conscience objection. why I hate current state of things is there is no way I can reject a participation in a war. I I will try - I will be prisoned just like in Russia. I don`t have any preferences like this police guys, I will lose my job immediately and will be kicked from industry for a years (since there is no demobilization for healthy people), yet the police have been reserved not to be conscripted without their desire to be. and because I`m a simple guy with civilian profession and no high education I will be conscripted into trench infantry in case of my mobilization. there is no justice.

@Tokieejke 16 күн бұрын
and you guys can compare what are post-army benefits in US or Europe and in Ukraine with all that money help from allies. yet it was not changed at all. this and absence of demobilization is the reasons why mobilization is so bad in Ukraine. those laws was implemented on purpose by our gov, which is the coalition between Zelensky`s party + pro-russian party (ОПЗЖ). All pro-europeans party`s in our parlament is a minority and they are mostly in opposition to that coalition. Can you imagine our inner kitchen now?

TBH those fighting in 2014 may have actually triggered all this nonsense. Ukrainian militias were killing Russian speaking civilians (8000 or so) which gave the Putin the green light to move in. A Federated Ukraine was on the cards and the militias (from both sides) messed that up resulting in the current death toll.
@vonries
@vonries 17 күн бұрын
For me it's all about the children. Never forget all of the Russians who abused children and their families in Ukraine. From the mass graves (in Izium) to the stolen children. Now if Ukrainian parents don't become Russian citizens and go to flight against their brothers and cousins Russia will take their newborn children at birth. Speaking of Izium. What did those 414 people see? The Russians thought it was better to murder them and bury them all in a mass grave instead of letting them testify. Whatever they saw must have been truly horrific. At minimum I'm guessing rape and torture. If Russia want's to sign😅 a treaty they must first prove they will stand by one. If Russia wants to negotiate, start with your original written agreement. Pull back all of their troops back behind their original boarder and then you can start negotiations. If they don't show they will honor the original agreement how can you expect them to honor any further agreements. It's our war to lose. Russia can NOT win. Unless we choose to not support Ukraine of course. It is on us in the global West to pick the world we want to live in. Choose wisely. Thanks. Glory to Ukraine. God Bless Ukraine and her people. 🇺🇦🇺🇸
