To be fair, Jack kinda unintentionally dangled himself on the edge of the dark side too. He got to be both the good guy and the bad guy as Jack.

@@shrutimahant i guess you’re right, but at the end of the day, jack was constantly struggling with his own darker side which, i suppose, was different from that wholehearted, unequivocal villainy in inherently bad-guy characters. i bet it made it even more interesting though!
