What a wonderful artist and interview! One thing he said that really, IMHO, is so important for art teachers (in colleges, etc.) is that his favorite teacher steered him toward great artists who painted as he aspired to paint…he didn’t try to change him into an abstract or installation type artist (not that those are bad), but that was not where his desire and natural gifts were leading him. BRAVO to that instructor/teacher! I’m basically self-taught, and watching other artists, along with reading everything I can get my hands on, and viewing great art, when I can, has been a great help to me. Thank you for this interview, Eric!

As I live in Medicine Hat Alberta, this is prairie - the same as Montana's prairie. Conservation of the Prairie is a common goal! I love painting plein air. Clyde Aspevig is a wonderful Artist and Conservationist. Thank you Eric for this wonderful interview!

So humble, so centered on becoming better, and from his perspective, he is always looking to what he feels are better artists than himself, and that is why he is always growing, always moving forward with his craft.

The Clyde Aspevig Landscape Demo was my favorite at Realism Live 2022. I learned a lot about Composition, Abstract, Expressive, fast block-in of shapes and notes in your acrylic underpainting. I took a lot of notes and screenshots.
