I accidentally saw both Jean and Alex (and Wei as well) for the very first time at the Geneva Watch Days in 2022 because they were all part of a panel discussion titled "The New Generation of Watch Leadership". I had thought that this would be about young independent watchmakers, and I was initially horrified to find out it was about the children of founders. However, by the end of the discussion I completely reversed my opinion. Everyone on the panel, including Jean and Alex, were so passionate and humble that it actually reassured me of the value and importance of long term thinking in watchmaking and the importance of multigenerational family business structures in insuring that long term view, particularly as it relates to community, workers, and all of the people and companies involved across the supply chain in Switzerland.

Pretty interesting point. Why does the best of something have to be old? Great question.
