Enjoyed your presentation on the new sound profiles. I noted them at the weekend and installed five units between my Kings' and one Hush Hush. I now have a total of forty seven of my collection with HM7000. What should also be noted the, the sound versions of the previous installations have been updated. We are now into version 1.4, so the next time my relevant locos are being run, the sound profiles will need to be updated.

The purists will no doubt look down their noses at them , but to have a good sounding decoder that you can re programme , change CVs easily and operate from a device of your choice for under £60 is good value and I am very pleased with mine. Cheers Kev

The only thing I didn't like was the fact that they didn't get a two tone whistle tune sound for King as that is one of the party pieces you can do with a GWR two tone whistle.

Totally agree Kev. I think they are excellent and superb value. Particularly like the auto play function as well. Sometimes the default running characteristics are a bit aggressive but these are easily tuned. Not sure I will ever buy another type of sound decoder unless the sound file I am after is not available or I need something more compact.

I now have 28 of these sound decoders, so am fully invested/committed to the HM7000. These new profiles are very welcome, the Class 20 in particular, but I’m concerned that the steam profiles are becoming a little ‘same-ish’. While the prime mover steam sounds themselves have some unique characteristics, a lot of the other stock sounds seem the same to me. I’d also like Hornby to consider including availability of a rail-joint clacking. This is a very prototypical sound on most railways, and it would be a welcome addition to these sound suites. Overall, I’m very satisfied with the HM7000 and their flexibility, in particular, is excellent when compared to the competition. The prices are first class too.

Nice! I have a couple of Rebuilt W1s, so to have them in the Range! Hornby we need an 08 sound file please!

There already is an 08 profile.

One problem is you can't change the chuff rate on the steam profiles, which should be four per revolution for a two cylinder loco and six for a three cylinder.

Great video, and so glad to see we are getting some new profiles FINALLY 😊 I’m super excited about the W1 as I’m expecting mine soon! Did you get any info regarding release times, I’m wondering if we will get these batch drops more consistently in the next year

The class 20 was spot on. The steam locomotives always seem to be a bit awkward to on a video. However actually hearing them on a layout they won't seem too bad.

Can’t say I’m overly impressed with sound file for the King
@bentullett606811 ай бұрын
I agree. What they haven't done is do the party piece whistle most GWR locomotives can do which is a two tone tune.

@@bentullett6068 The whistle doesn’t even sound like it’s a GWR locomotive.
@bentullett606811 ай бұрын
@@Hooterton_Model_Railway I thought similar or it sounded like the loco they took the sound from was either not up to full steam or the whistle itself was playing up. The recorded loco was either King Edward the 1st or King Edward the 2nd.

I agree, doesn't sound like four cylinders at all let alone a King. A great shame, lets have a revision and a castle too.

The original TTS file was recorded from KEII. The HM7000 version sounds completely different. I’d like to see what it sounds like on a decent run not just a small back and forth shunt.

Will the hm7000 fit inside a Bachmann class 20?

Although I am happy they have included a GWR loco finally on HM7000... Can't say I am impressed really... Sounds a little too much like a port from TTS file... Nevertheless a step the right direction for Hornby enthusiastic GWR modellers

I am not sure you gain much in having HM7000 over Hornby TTS sound! Thanks for uploading.

You gain a lot, including reprogrammable decoders, more sound profiles, solder free speaker and powerbank connections, Bluetooth control option and easy CV editing, amongst other benefits.

What a load of junk from Hornby, the Class 20 sounds like bubbles in a fishtank, infact it sounds like the loco is drowning, and fighting to get air as it plunges beneath the waves! terrible rendition, won't be buying any HM7000 sounds with that pile of tosh
