To Wong Foo The Musical is based on the 1995 cult-classic film, To Wong Foo Thanks for Everything Julie Newmar, written by multiple Tony Award nominee Douglas Carter Beane and featuring an all-star cast including Patrick Swayze, Wesley Snipes, John Leguizamo, Stockard Channing, Robin Williams and Ru Paul.
Set in 90s New York, To Wong Foo The Musical tells the story of 3 Drag Queens, Vida, Noxeema and Chichi, who embark on a trip across America to attend the Drag Queen of the Year Finals in Hollywood. When their car breaks down in Middle America, their lives, as well as those in the town, are turned upside down, in this joyous, heartfelt and high camp musical extravaganza!
Those that know and love the film can expect all of those brilliant one liners, supported by a score that is a little bit club, a little bit country, a little bit musical theatre, but a whole lot of attitude!

I hope it comes out on video so I can get a change to see it. I hope this isn't taken negatively but I think it could have been really fun to see a British adaptation for this story. You know, three Northern small town drag queens on a journey to London for a drag contest each is convinced they can't lose but on the way there something goes awry. They must pool their inner wisdom and experience to get through it and learn how to be good people along the way. You could call it something like "Trains, Pains and Broken Heels" or something cutesy like that. You're Brits! You pretty much invented clever. Go for it. Please? It would be great to see what you guys do with that.
