This was a good update. FYI, Shanghai metro became operational in 1993 (nine years later than Kolkata metro). Now Shanghai metro is spread over nearly 900 km, whereas Kolkata metro has crawled to just 47 km. Let’s hope things improve fast and we should see Kolkata metro spread to at least 200 km and ideally to 300 km by the end of this decade.

Also with Jaipur Good for the headstart but they need to bring in investments in Jaipur City Also investing today for future infra is better and will cost less . But it's comes down to affordability of the projects beyond speculation for profits at the current scenario . Which WB cannot afford . So it's makes it hard for WB to try these experiments .

Nowadays all the metro stations looks the same, not at all aesthetically pleasing which can stand out among all Indian railway platforms. These are for just serving the purpose, not making any architectural footprint. Still i love to prefer old underground metro stations rather than these models.

No. I am a local there and apparently it has been cancelled. There was a proposal to make the flyover over the main road but that will be disasterous to construct.

And the government isn't bothered about it. Instead they want to build underground pedestrian subways.

Very good progress but I am a Railway colony 's son so many years our families working in Railways but I am sorry' to say that in Railways Work's nothing do anyone construction proper time which is completed in 12 Months but in Railways Work's completed the work in 18 months because permission form Central Govt then trial runs after trial runs the Metro trains to started the Metro trains process.I am living in Behala Parnashree pally here Joka to B.B.D Bug metro still now not complit to B.B.D Bag Last 14 years back due to Money not sanctioned to started the Metro trains as early as possible it's completely solved 2027
