Regardless of manufacturing and IT or Non-IT companies we need huge supplies of high paying job here. Kolkata is filled with 3-4 LPA ctc folks which is why Kolkata has a high diaspora of Biharis who are working in these packages, while the middle class educated Bengalis are working in Bangalore, Hyd, Pune for 20, 30, 40 LPA packages.

You are under wrong impression. Adani has already withdrawn from Tajpur port project as it will be economically not viable. Adani is also going very slow in Bengal IT park, in Silicon valley. Same is with Reliance project in Bengal Silicon valley. His cable landing project under sea near Digha as of now no progress.

And also West Bengal Government Should Redevelop Old Kolkata's infrastructure ( good roads and good footwalks etc)and public transport system upgrade along with slum Redevelopment projects should be done there . And We have to stop illigal immigrants coming here with Poverty . It is the roadmap .

​@@sohamiam704No demand is wrong actually. I've heard many here searching for high paying jobs. And they even got them here. See it depends on living costs. In Kolkata it's among the least. Hence the salary is less. Hyderabad and Bengaluru are more expensive places. For example would you be happy paying ₹100 for a 2 km auto ride or just ₹10 here? The difference is incredible. Will take time but companies like Infosys, Wipro and LTI Mindtree have potential to create many high paying jobs. There are quite a few MNCs too paying great salaries.

The present scenario of our state is being contributed by all of us, our previous 2 decades generation and the present generation as well. We all expect Foreign banks, Product based MNC to come and open their institution here. Sorry to be a spoilsport, byt sometimes can't help but wonder... why not build few massive buildings of 30-35 floors over the entire area, and fill up the floors and workstations with these small companies (with more in-take potential for the future)? This is simply wastage of prime real estate - in a land starved state like Bengal... No one shall build massive buildings on these sub-1 acre plots, not feasible... at max they'll come up with G+4/5 structures... if this isn't wastage of crucial land, then what is?

Blue collar , white collar , it services , consulting sob manufacturing er upor depends. Also indirect employment like logistics and vendor management to supply chain. They use infra like road , rail n ports which add revenue to govt. And this brings numerous ancillary units downstream manufacturing. Over all ripple effect of adding lakhs of employment. I am into manufacturing and can say , a big manufacturing change the overall landscape and able to bring millions people out of poverty. IT sector is good but dont have a ripple employment effect. Money goes into pocket of few and generate employment for few. Put pressure in govt to bring manufacturing. Next as AI come into play by 2030 this bpm , testing and application based service provider is out. Only product based will go long run. Service will diminished in long run. Manufacturing is sustainable in long run.
