"Deferred, cheapened and neglected maintenance" IS a way of life in America now. When you poison the food, cut corners, under pay, under staff, overwork and keep asking people to live in constant stress and worry about getting their basic needs met, this is what you get, things start falling apart. Sorry, but that is reality.

How do we know the plane wasn't struck by one of those MYSTERIOUS DRONES that have been flying around that region recently?
@AlexanderGreat-qb5lx9 минут бұрын
El Chapo guilty verdict last week. This was a Mexican owned aircraft. El Chapo recently made a threat mentioning jets. Does the Airport have video surveillance of the full-time of aircraft while on ground? Were their really 6 peopke on board, more? Were there peope on board at all? The initial tower audio was removed and it most certainly doesntvadd up. It almost sounded like someone gave a warning.
@mholden0203 сағат бұрын
This is fraught with irresponsible speculation, and as someone who grew up around aviation this is nauseating to listen to. The videos shown while he's speaking show the plane descending without any visible fire, merely the landing lights illuminating the fog/clouds. Also, so far there's nothing to suggest an in-flight breakup (no videos, even the clearer ones, show multiple parts falling) and the lack of other explosions suggest the plane is intact, as in none of the fuel tanks impacted elsewhere. Add on a claim that it was poor maintenance practice without anything to back that up, and this is nothing short of tasteless right now. Experience doesn't automatically equal credibility, and this shows that. Leave speculation out of this, respect the families, let the investigators do their work.

What is actually going on? First, a Black Hawk helicopter collides with a passenger plane, and now a medical jet crashes-incident after incident, one after another. These are not isolated events; there seems to be a troubling pattern emerging. Aviation accidents happen, but the frequency and nature of these collisions raise serious concerns. Is it mechanical failure, human error, or something more systemic at play? Something is not right somewhere, and it demands deeper scrutiny before more lives are put at risk.

This comment section needs to chill out. This is a professional pilot with tons of experience who gives condolences and speculation about what might have happened- all anyone can do on the news or KZbin until the official report comes out. When he says the plane disintegrated in midair, he's referring to its position on flight aware- the flight tracking website. Flying is still the safest mode of transportation and will only get safer due to these unfortunate accidents. Be kind and pray for the families at this time

You will find engine parts, far from the fuselage. Engines need complete teardown at intervals, rotors, fans, etc. have to be x-rayed, use ultrasound, etc. to look for cracks, and replace parts. Rebuilding the engines properly cost more than that plane is worth. It is 43 years old, not in itself bad, IF, it had a lot of maintenance during it's lifetime. It is based out of MX.

With respect to those who perished in todays accident, NTSB should consider possible drone strike for catastrophic engine failure. Someone may possess an empty drone case in the flight path area this evening, if so I hope they have the courage to come forward. Note, I heard a report, DJI recently removed airport proximity restrictions on their drones. Again, something to consider, recalling the recent drone to wing strike during the LA fires..
