Exclusive Preview: Cunard Queen Anne Maiden Voyage

I’ll be sailing on Queen Anne on May 24. My last cruise was on HAL Rotterdam and I believe they both “Pinnacle” class ships, so I’ll be able to compare.

Me and my partner go on her in June ,cannot wait to go. We love the Queen Mary 2 , Alltough she is an old ship . We love other cruise lines but Cunard to me do it right.🚢

Nice video, guys! I appreciate you showing the amenities for each class of service, all the cabin types, and the new and different dining venues that will be available. I just can’t decide if that’s too formal for me! Lots to pack for women.

It doesn't suit everyone but we like to ring the changes casual cruising and formal I guess it's all about what you fancy at the time.

My only Cunard experience was on the Queen E. It was fabulous. It had art-deco touches but wouldn't say this was carried throughout the ship, Regardless I can't believe the doom and gloom Cunard loyalists are predicting just because Cunard is trying to gently update its style.

THANK YOU so much for your video!! We are senior cruisers in our 60’s and 70’s. Our first time on Cunard and first time on a maiden voyage!!! Glad it was moved to May - better weather. And one of us was pretty sick in January anyway. We have a guaranteed balcony and wondering where we will be. We were in Lisbon last year (NCL Cruise Embarkation City) and luved it. We are coming from the USA, if that matters, looking forward to maybe seeing you on board. 🚢

Thank you for a great insight to Queen Ann. Looks like they have got the right balance between the modern and the traditional well loved art deco. I will miss the traditional red colored 'CUNARD' sign on each side of the ship's hull/deck. The red colored sign was so recognizable on Cunard ships.

I do share your concerns about the interior of the Queen Anne> do like the inteior of the Queen Elizabeth and Queen Mary 2. I do love the interior of the QE2 and the boldness 19060's style of the entrance lobby and the Queen Room, I shou hate it but I don't. Maybe everything in moderation. lets just hope and trust that Cunard and it's designers have pulled it off once again. Great video by the way, nice easy going style. Much appreciated

Until the launch of the current Queens Cunard design language had steered toward contemporary design, Cunard represented "modern luxury" (wonder where Celebrity got that idea from?) subtly introducing the latest in design & technology into their ships. Recently the brand has primarily led with heritage and the focus on Art Deco says more about current customer preferences & marketing segmentation than anything else. Due to the slow pace of ship launches each new ship draws more critical attention from customers than perhaps would be the case with other brands, Cunard is preparing for their future passengers and Queen Anne is a step in that direction, this ship is going to be in service for maybe 30 years and Cunard are trying to tempt those in their 30's, 40's & 50's to try the brand for the first time. Tastes will move on, so must the brand, who knows maybe by the time of her first re-fit the 70's could be all the rage and perhaps tangerine wallpaper and cord fabric will make a come back. We're looking forward to our time onboard in July, I'm sure she will exceed our expectations.

When they first released their computer generated images of this ship, I was very disappointed. But over the months I have definitely warmed to the designs. Personal interpretation, but I would say she is more art deco rather than less so. Annoyed with myself for not jumping on booking, as the early released fares seemed very reasonable. Will now wait until the initial stampede has calmed, but definitely have to experience her. After the maiden year is completed, have they said where in the world she will mainly be based?
