It's not like proper gambling. If a dealer gave away the game in a Casino they would've been fired, sued and or worse. With a TV game show, her mistake gets the show talked about and probably will pull in more views and raising the shows ratings, that's a possitive for the show.

People are upset because even the smallest and simplest task can't even be carried out correctly. And when others lose their jobs for farting to loud, this little princess get's to keep her job, laugh about it and give away a car because she's not able to listen to instructions. I always wondered if the hosts would ever just give a prize away, but I can't remember ever seeing it, so seeing this was refreshing, especially since they gave the car away, and everyone was in agreement not to cause concern over the honest mistake the model made. She seemed like a real down to Earth person too. I bet the thought never crossed anyone's mind to hold her accountable over a silly mistake. Besides, the contestant was likely going to pick that next anyway right? So she would've most likely won anyway. Not sure how that would work.

Yeah, there was already a 1/4 chance the contestant would've won the car anyway, and she'd been there for 6 years without making a mistake, she must've revealed thousands of price tags of times during her time there. For just about any occupation, most employers will forgive 1 mistake out of 1000

It really shows how great of a human being Drew Carey is. Of course, knowing he wasn't paying for the car he could laugh and laugh. Also, there were a few moments in the old price is right when they accidentally gave away things because of mental errors by staff. And I'm sure the entire staff loved that girl too, she seems like a total sweetheart. Really it wasn't a big deal, the show's premise is giving somewhat expensive stuff away to lucky people....just usually not cars....LOL

It actually doesn't cost them anything. They get every prize for free from companies because of the publicity and the promotion they get by being on The Price is Right. And the whole point of the show is to give all that free stuff away, which is why they reuse the prizes when a contestant loses. So that's why she wasn't fired because it literally do cost them nothing. But they just don't want to make it a habit

At one of my previous workplaces, a fellow employee once made a mistake fulfilling an order during an overnight shift, and it cost our store thousands of dollars to fix. I made a couple of mistakes while producing orders that required expensive service calls on equipment to resolve. All humans _will_ make mistakes, and the biggest mistake an employer can make is overreacting to an error from a loyal and productive employee. It's comforting to know it happens at all levels, public and private, and grace can be applied to everyone.

Quit whining you incel. Being attractive is her job. Modelling is the only job where being attractive doesn't grant you any special treatment. She kept her job because she'd been there for years without making a mistake before, and the producers were totally prepared to give away that car as the contestant had a 1 in 4 chance of winning it anyway. Price is right is a multimillion dollar operation, "losing" 20K is just a basic business expense.
