Until AFTER he had regenerated into his last natural body (Matt Smith) and then met himselves and realized that they (all of the first 12 Doctors AND his War-Doctor Persona had actually saved Galifrey by placing it in a state of Time-locked hibernation in a 'pocket universe' all its own. When the 9th Doctor (Christopher Eccleston) first saw the one DALEK that somehow had escaped The Time War, with Rose as his then latest companion, The Doctor realized that something had happened to change the events as he knew them and he kept going in part to solve the mystery of how that DALEK and later many other DALEKS has escaped that fate of total destruction that he thought he had caused... He didn't then yet know how, but he knew something in his own timeline had been altered... Later we see how it was The Great Intelligence and his interference in The Doctor's own collective time-stream in the Doctor's grave on Trenzalore that cause a fracture for the DALEKS to escape and also caused other changes... When Clara stepped into this time-stream also to stop the Great Intelligence repeatedly throughout many points in time, it helped keep much in-tact, yet still changed other things...When The Doctor (12) asked Clara in Series 8, whether he was a good man or not, she siad that she didn't know...??? she had sacrificed her life to save The Doctor, the Universe and the time-line all for The Doctor, YET she didn't know ??!

When it's talking about "he" and "his servants" I'm sure it's talking about Davros and The Daleks, because the doctor and Davros have known each other for a long time, and the doctor has always tried to help him, plus with the inclusion of Skaro on the opening of Doctor Who series 9, it only makes sense that Davros would be connected, that could be the very cliffhanger it self, plus it has been leaked and rumored that in that 2 parter the doctor will be given the choice to go back in time and kill Davros as a child...

+noam b I guess you only really watched Nu Who, which has been fast paced since it came back, like 40 minutes of build up such as Doctor running then he either waves his magic wand or brings a victory out of nowhere whereas older series had multiple episodes for 1 story even if the episodes were half the length. 9 still holds up, 10 has aged badly, 11's good episodes hold up but the bad are awful, I disliked in the previous series the focus on kids and multiple ethnic characters (Im all for equality but they feel shoved in to be PC) By the way its series not season, its a British show.

***** Well about the female doctor debate, as Moffat said, it isn't about him being female or male. It's about the person. And if they'll meet an exciting and satisying actrees they would surely cast her. But the show does suck though now.

Well I don't dislike the actual Doctors as much as how the plot flows, at most 10 I thought had a great actor but he seemed to alternate between 2 extremes , either childish and arrogant to angry and yelling, I thought he was just right in the 50th and the most of Series 2, as for characters the only minority if you can call it that I liked was Captain Jack as he was fleshed out rather than just random strangers suddenly kissing, and the last series had too many shoved in black characters, I know a lot of its set in London but being shoved in to fill quotas is stupid nothing feels natural and a lot of people argue how its fiction therefore its allowed. I wish we had more male companions rather than all but one of the female companions fancying the Doctor. I also think rather than a female Doctor focus on Jenny, a female Doctor would only work if it was a spin off or for a one off special for shock value or if a AU timelord arrived such as a alternate Romana who calls herself the Doctor as her Doctor is dead and uses his Tardis.
