What are you talkin about mainstream media does softball interviews like this all the time. Fox does it to people they like and CNN and MSNBC do to people that like as well. They'll invite Biden on and have him talk on and on just like Trump in this video Never challenged him just let him talk. Fox News will have some fuk supporter on their Channel and do the same thing they can say whatever ridiculous thing they want they won't push back. How is this any different?

@@DevilJin01 EVERYBODY needs to get hard ball. If you gonna be given power we need to see what you stand for. If I'm liberal, I need to know what my liberal candidates are about. If I'm conservative I need to know the same about my conservative candidates. Unfortunately people SAY they want truth but in reality the truth hurts. They just want validation and media knows this. People want more proof that they are on the right team. So crush Trump on MSNBC and crush Biden on FOX, then each side feels they are watching real news because the news they watch is telling the truth about the candidates they hate, while the media on that side hides that truth. So each side feels they are getting the real story on the opponents and many times they are...however both sides are blind to their own side. Liberals are ignorant of Biden's evils and conservatives are blind of Trumps. Not ALL, but many of them are. It's sad that people applaud partisanship as seen by the amount of like to OP vs mine. Many clearly like Trump and appreciate him being allowed to sound reasonable which is preferred to Trump getting a tough interview and not appearing as positively as they would like to see him. Same with Biden. Most Biden voters do not want to see CNN exposing his lies or other issues, because it's personal. They voted for him so if he sucks...maybe THEY suck? That is the thought process.

yeah no captions or anything, like we don't know Trump is talking. He's right on the screen. Without the captions, it's just the guy talking and I'm suddenly focused on what he's saying. The background where they're talking is also nice and calm instead of the grayness of the press room.

I really like Saagar. A lot. But he has a tendency to talk incredibly tough on his show about what he would do, how he would interview people, the tough questions he would ask..... but he interviews prominent figures and he folds. I first saw this when he panned and passionately disagreed with Ben Shapiro on The Hill (without Shapiro being present) about Covid government bailouts but then when Shapiro interviewed him (in person) about this disagreement, Saagar basically said "well, no, it's not that I disagree with you. It's that I agree with you but in a different manner." Recently, on The Hill, he talked about the "in your face" tough questions he'd ask Trump and Biden if he was a moderator in a debate. My thinking after his history of backing down in person and talking tough on the show? "Nah Saagar.... You'd stick to basic, standard questions. Don't talk tough."

Wow, thanks. Your journalism inspires me and is much more explanatory than just getting ridiculous sound bites that even Trump supporters seem to favor. I'm no fan of DT but what you've explained to me is that he does have a narrative going in his mind that has some sort of internal logic. Too bad that he feels he still has to take sole credit for things such as pressure on Iran as it confuses understanding what his overall aim is (yeah, elitism and his own self worth - but talking about what he thinks his positive motives are). Once again, thanks for making me a better listener.

I've been loving this channel's interviews back at their station, but this format without push-back is toootally missing th point If I wanted to hear Trump talk unfiltered, I would go to his Twitter (or watch any other interview he does) I hope one day you guys create the morale to actually push back on the president's answers. I felt that there were many times that Saagar wanted to rebuke but probably felt that he shouldn't

@@trenoops - I agree with Kevin Dasilva in that they were able to ferret out much more by focusing DT on giving fuller responses than talking points (though still plenty of that) and not just making him look ridiculous. I'm a Bernie fan but I found this to be quite informative and explanatory. I didn't know DT was able to form complete sentences before this.

I really don't understand why all these people are commenting that this is a great interview and it's so much better than mainstream media when all this is is a softball interview just like what the mainstream media would do. I've been looking around this entire video and I don't see any kind of push back on anything Trump says. He basically asked him a question and let Trump say whatever then move on to the next question. Journalists are supposed to hold politicians accountable they supposed to dig and get to the bottom of a story not simply allow politicians to utilize their platform as free publicity. Any interview with a politician that does not challenge that politician is not a good interview.

The Green Deal wants a wealth tax. Not to raise all taxes, but those who make a millionaire or more. Personally, I think you should just target billionaires because they are ridiculously rich and if they aren't gonna pay their own employees well enough, as well as giving benefits and good healthcare insurance than their money might as well go to the government to fund medicare for all, welfare programs, and infrastructure. I mean helping rebuild some old streets is a lot better than spending that cash to buy uselessly large homes no one is gonna live in.
