Looks nice the game. Will I play it - probably not. I'm in the same situation like you. Full-time job, wife and two kids in the age of 4.5 and 15 month - my time is limited. Very much. I have two games which I play. If there is little time, even on the toilet (parents know!), I play MARVEL SNAP. Three minutes, one game, perfect. The other game is Wild Rift. If there is a bit time in the evening (23:00-00:30), EVERYONE is sleeping - I have MY time. So I play one, two, up to three games. Can't grind the ranks like crazy. But Master is easy to reach. If you play sometimes, here is a support you can invite. How is life going? Kids keeping you busy-busy? 😅

Game definitely looks fun. I actually like that leaders lock your deck to certain unit. It makes deckbuilding more interesting because you cant just spam the same 4 op units and just swap out the leader (more variety in deck types). Also makes it easier to guess/predict what the opponents units are just from their leader. But yea the p2w aspect is a HUGE letdown. Probably gonna try the game for a week or two and decide if I'm continuing or not. I dropped Clash Royale for the same reason because progressing as a free player is a nightmare. Same with BTD Battles 2. The only mobile game I play rn is just Wild Rift and Genshin (but I often play it on pc for better performance). Oh and glad to hear your voice again! ❤

The backlash this game got on /r/iosgaming is pretty telling on what the mobile gaming crowd generally thinks about this game. Esp those our age. (you nailed that on the head) TLDR people were insulted that a premium gaming IP like BLIZZARD would make a shitty Clash Royale cash machine f2p type game. It's problematic and downright predatory. I'm personally surprised they went in this direction. The game honestly doesn't even feel like a Blizzard game. It feels like a third party made it and stamped blizzard on it. It's just.... so unlike them.

Will definitely kill clash for me. PVE sounds refreshing and evos kinda ruined clash. Plus blizzard doesn’t do the BS predatory counter matchmaking that clash does.
