What is Town of Salem?
Town of Salem is a fresh innovation on the classic party games Mafia and Werewolf. It is a game of murder, accusations, deceit and mob hysteria.
So the Derp Crew decided to head back in time to an Era that wasn't so kind to its Citizen. Where burning witches was legal, and hurting your local jailor wasn't really that frowned upon! We will attempt to deceive, trick, punish, and lie as we attempt to win for our faction and bring glory to our respective cause!

I know they probably still don't understand the concept of the game ,but seeing Skadj as the real escort trusting Kara as second escort made me laugh lol ! Base on the graveyard and role list that was just impossible ,Kara basically outed herself if they pay more attention . Skadj did provide logical defense that he rbed the GF-Aphex ,and Aphex even admitted it.

The derp crew already played TOS back in the days ,in Chilled's old playlist there are over a hundred videos of this game . Sure,there's a lot of changes ,but the town is basically the same(besides spy ,ret ,and some I might forget) ,however a lot of random mafia was added . I think Chilled will recall the rules and roles sooner or later ,there's a lot of strats you can use once you know how the roles work.

@@santinohartford6891 typical strat is mayor reveal, gets roles, then is jailed, gives all the roles to jailor, and all the TP protect the jailor, of if coordinated well enough one TP protects the jailor and another TP protects the TP thats protecting jailor downside is jailor cant actually jail anyone as he needs to protect the mayor, and if a maf is jailed the others know mayor isnt protected. upside is mayor can get roles instead of jailor anyway its been a long while since ive played tho so even this strat may have been nerfed

Transporter changes who visits someone, not who someone visits. Platy was gonna die regardless. All chilled did was make it so if someone visited platy, it would act like they visited Pjonk and vice versa.

Tiff looked into all the possible worldlines and found the only one where she won in that first game. If Skadj had lived through that vote, he would've blocked Dumbdog or been killed by Dumbdog, so its either a draw or the only kill would've been Chelsea ending her life on Tiff. Then Chilled just gets his W by siding with the mafia to vote out Skadj and Tiff is alertless. That was the only way to secure Chilled's vote and win for the town, and there was no way she could've actually planned it out but hey a lucky win is still a good win in my mind.

I was also once in a game with four escorts and three consorts which essentially comes down to 7 of the same role. And we all literally died to one SK.

@@another_julia yah...so an instant win is probably a little too harsh but I feel like there should be something. Maybe like a 3 turn process: turn 1: target player the jester chooses dies, turn 2: idk something that messes with everyone, turn 3: if neither side has won yet, the jester alone wins

I think the issue is that in ToS a jester/exe already loses chances to win too often because their role can be confirmed beyond a shadow of doubt. If the evils are discouraged from helping them, their chances of winning might plummet like crazy, especially because in games with just 1 neutral killing role the mafia will almost immediately know a jester/exe because of their bullshit

I'll still say I loved the game that you played Veteran and shot Tiff and someone else on complete accident Night 1... right after the veteran went off on the round at 48:01 lol Will also recommend for next week if possible, I know it seemed interesting but it never came up until the Any role game however... Should do at least 1 Vampire game for next week. Just to see if you like it or not as, it felt interesting when one person was a vampire in the final "meme" game (although it is more interesting when the Neutral Killing role is Vampire because no one ever sees it coming and then by the time there are like, 6 people left alive and 4 people are vampires, it confuses the last 2 people on why they are being voted up hahaha) But honestly, this ToS stream was probably one of the best ones so far considering not only did it feel fun, but considering you even wanted to do the "one more" game with the meme round after the previous game you said should be the last one... It's good to see that you are really enjoying the game again :)

Always alert n2 tho ,especially in a ww town. The play is to stay low day 1 ,and talk like you got some info day 2 . Saving the alerts til end game is more of a luck play,since 60% of the time you just die early ,30% chances that the town push for a role call and since you haven't shoot anyone yet they vote you out. Some big brain vet claim TP or TI to bait evils,however it might backfire if the real tp visits you . Base on experience ,the vet usually kill more towns ,but when they got 2 evils or more town basically win.

I'd say the real approach is just to not alert randomly, but only after making a play (e.g. painting a target on your back when other townies already need to be protected, or keeping a degree of doubt about yourself so that a killer is much more likely to come than a doc/lookout). Obviously day 1 vet baits aren't a real play, because they aren't based in the current situation and are a major coin flip

If he does, then it is almost 100% that he is going to need this group. Most of the Coven game modes are dead, Only one that is semi-consistent is Coven All Any, though I have also played a couple Town Traitor. But any other version of coven is mostly dead.

I once went into a game with a friend years ago (we knew each other’s names and only told each other roles if we won with any side) I got exe and whispered her immediately and told her who my target was. She replied with “same” Next morning as the deaths are rolling in i whisper more and ask her target and she said she had the same target. So we planned it out that one would claim sheriff and one would claim lookout and “confirm” the sheriff. We won immediately and got accused of cheating and we’re here like _did you not see the 10 whispers?_ XD

That's cheating tbh ,but it's only a slight cheat not a big one . The reason I stopped playing TOS is because there's just too many throwers and "cheaters" who are in the same call . It happened many times that I got a town investigative role and caught the evil early on,but since they are in a group they refused to vote their friends out, sometimes even I got voted out . It really sucks and defeat the purpose of the game.

I should also say that we *only* knew each other through ToS. Neither of us had Skype or anything to talk to each other in a different window or call. That’s what I mainly meant by the cheating thing, they thought we were in a call and physically told each other roles and stuff when we didn’t

@@haylemoo I mean, whether it's through Skype or whispers makes no difference here, what mattered was that you had an agreement outside the game - once one of you whispers the other your neutral role, they know it's trustworthy for that reason A random person in a game can also whisper their role, but they can reasonably expect to get called out if whoever they whispered to loses from helping them, or just wants to get townie points by bussing them

Exes having the same target, particularly in classic seems to be far more common than you might think. In a built list, sure, a lot harder, but in All Any, most of my exe wins that have not been made n1 jesters are because another exe pushed my target as well.

Damn Chilled ,you double-crossed the Italian mafia and there will be consequence. Honestly in that situation should probably skip and let Dumbdog and Tiff fight it out ,odds still favorite the mafia. (I will always help whoever gave me the win tho ,it's my game code.) Although Kara totally fuck up by even trying to visit a vet ,I like her attitude toward this game ,not salty at all compare to Among Us and other games. I feel like beginner Kara is more fun to watch just like she first played Worms ,however in those games which she had more experiences the Alpha Kara comes out ,and it could be a little cringe sometimes when she got super competitive.

So I know Chilled won't actually see this, but in Town of Salem, if there is more than one Executioner, they have to have the same target. I've never once been in a game with multiple Executioners where the Executioners had different targets, so to be fair I'm speaking from completely circumstancial evidence. But I've been in a few games with multiple Executioners now, so I'm pretty sure that's the case.

According to the wiki, multiple Execs and GAs can have the same target. Some reddit thread from a while back mentions that the target is decided by RNG. It’s probably still the case that RNG that dictates whether multiple Execs have the same target, but I can’t really find anything for certain.

Well, just making a custom game with multiple exes and townies and rolling it for a few times would confirm it. On the surface that seems a bit extreme, basically means Executioner chances to win in All Any game grow insane with just one extra guy
