Executing SPS burns in the Apollo Command Module - P40 G&N SPS Thrusting

Hello, I love this series and I have a challenge for you. Perhaps you’re familiar with this story. The Apollo 10 Mission was intended to be a full rehearsal of all aspects of the landing mission, except the landing. What is most interesting is that NASA actually seriously considered the possibility that the Apollo 10 LEM crew might essentially mutiny and land on the Moon anyway. To prevent this, NASA short-fueled the LEM ascent stage (reportedly by 50%) to make it impossible to achieve lunar orbit. The descent stage however appears to have been fully fueled. My hypothetical challenge is this: Assume that either the LEM crew, or all three crewmen of Apollo 10 secretly mutiny and cooperate to execute a lunar landing against orders. A)If only the LEM crew revolted, consider this scenario: land using exclusively the AGC to minimize fuel use (i.e. no jockeying around like Armstrong) , do an EVA and collect a few rocks, then jettison all extra weight and take off USING THE DESCENT STAGE, burn to exhaustion, then switch to the ascent stage. B)If it is impossible to achieve the programmed orbit using the above method, then assume that the CM pilot joins the mutiny. Can the CM drop down into a trajectory reachable by the LEM, then boost back up and return to Earth? C)Finally, what does dropping down to one astronaut on the LEM (along with all the necessary accoutrement) do to either of those scenarios? I downloaded this game a few months ago. I Did the redstone launch, orbit and landing by myself and it was fun. I got through the Gemini Training full training. Then jumped into Apollo. Geez this one is a different ball game. It’s very fun but daunting. I don’t have hardly any knowledge about the Apollo computer. Which is mostly what is tripping me up

Loving this, for the first time I’m wishing I had a VR rig :). Made it through Mercury & Gemini fine, Apollo is rough. The full CSM is so sluggish with RCS, docking that first couple of time was a train wreck. I still don’t get how you line up properly, the white&red spots just don’t give enough of a clue. It called it docked but I need more practice for sure. Anyway, thank you for this. As a programmer I can imagine the growing complexity behind this. Lots of crashes in 0.99.25 (whatever is current on steam).

I can, but the procedure is the same as for LOI, except you need to set the dV to something that makes Ap=Pe. 👍
