this looks like so much fun. wish more people played re-entry regularly

Awesome video! Thank you. My computer doesn't run the sim very well, but I hope to change that soon. I am very excited to see that there is a mission control aspect as well. I will now be more interested in learning and playing a flight controller role.

I wonder if you guys are using the open sourced NASA programs for the AGC and doing a full simulation like NASSP? Also, are the RTCC programs open source?
@ReentryAnOrbitalSimulator3 жыл бұрын
Hi! No, I do not use the vAGC as NASSP does. The CSM and LM implementation in Reentry is very young compared to NASSP, and the focus of Reentry is also on Mercury, Gemini and the Mission Controls, and more crafts are planned. Reentry does not have the same level of fidelity as the impressive NASSP project has. It aims to teach the players the general systems and how to operate the major and critical tasks in the mission, and a typical player might start with Reentry, then move on to NASSP when it comes to Apollo. Of course, this will evolve over time when new things and systems are added. With that in mind, the recreation of MOCR as seen is this video has been on a best effort, and the RTCC programs are designed with a gamification in mind, to fit with a single player operating it (since no players are in the RTCC, they are just in the Guidance seat).

@@ReentryAnOrbitalSimulator I want to ask you question! Why did a typical Apollo moon landing mission only need just no more than 30 flight controllers? A typical Russian or Chinese human space flight typically has more than 100 flight controllers in a single flight control room!

@@ReentryAnOrbitalSimulator How could such small number of flight controllers handle such a sophisticated space mission?

Steam banned any purchase from our region due to sanctions and our credit cards are not working. I confess I downloaded it from PB out of curiosity and when I saw how much effort and time was put in to it I deleted it right away. I will only run it when I find a way to pay for it. Would a donation be appropriate? Otherwise I just can't find a way to buy it(

Is it possible to do all this in single player?
@ReentryAnOrbitalSimulator3 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately not, it is quite complex logic behind this, it requires a networking session. If is possible to walk in it, but not interact with stuff if not connected to a live session.

@@ReentryAnOrbitalSimulator So this is multiplayer then? What is the minimum amount of players needed to do this Mission control scenario?

It already is, you just have to enable it in settings for it to appear in the main menu.

This is just the recording setup that got mixed up, the echo is not there during a game session.

Now in 2022 NASA can’t send men to the Moon/even beyond low earth orbit, because it hasn't developed the necessary technology yet, therefore it's impossible that 50 years ago they sent men to the moon (which is 500 times farther).
