In a situation like that though, only ONE PITCH is coming your way, a moderate fastball, that's it.... Everyone knows what pitch is coming, it's simply the safest and best option, as a Strike or a Hit, are actually what you WANT. One pitch is coming, straight down the line, nice and safe, betting on the batter being just as on edge, with, on average, a lesser chance of a hit than a strike.... BUT, that doesn't really matter either, they're up 3 runs, with 2 outs, if the Strike doesn't happen, they WANT this guy to hit, it's just as good because it doesn't take a genius to do that math lol, as it's in the high 90 percentile they get the last out with almost ANY hit, with runs to spare.... the only thing they couldn't afford, is a Grand Slam LOL, and considering it was down to a single pitch, with ANY HIT (except one lol) being acceptable, one pitch was coming.... It would actually be really exciting to be in that situation as a batter lol, because it's a rare opportunity to almost know for sure what's coming!! Just watch the ball and swing like a mofo lol.... Anyway, couldn't agree more with ya that it must have felt pretty damn badass.... Talk about a lifelong ego refiller lol, just think back to this moment and bam, self-esteem at 100% haha....

There's nothing more awesome in baseball than a walkoff grand slam down 3 with 2 outs in the 9th, even moreso if it's on a 3-2 and the pitch is a strike so a swing is necessary. Ultimate clutch hit. Now we just gotta see that happen in game 7 of the world series and it'll be the ultimate hit. It would seriously go down as one of if not THE greatest hit of all time. I mean, you can't top that. But seriously, every aspect of that is badass individually, but all together it's simply perfection. A homerun is so riveting and electric, so badass. When it's a grand slam it's such a monumental moment that lifts the crowd off their feet into a frenzy. A walkoff is so electric, knowing that one moment won the game, and with two outs it's even more incredible, as the game (or at least extra innings) comes down to one player and one at bat. Being down 3 just ties it all together, cause not only is it a walkoff grand slam with two outs, essentially all the coolest things converging as one explosive swing blows up the entire game and wins it all in the most heroic fashion, especially since grand slams are pretty uncommon, but when it's a 3 point deficit, the grand slam is literally THE way to win it, cause anything else comes short, and even a hit still could end up in a loss. But a grand slam down 3 wins it, with two outs it's the last chance, and a walkoff is always beautiful. Like I said, in the world series, not to mention game 7, would be incredible. One swing, the only (realistically) possible way that the at bat could end in a win, not only seals the game with two outs and 3-2 in the zone, literally the final pitch of a season on the final leg, but it ends the world series and the whole MLB season, earning a championship for the player and their team. It's the ultimate sports moment right there. Literally the whole season is encapsulated and brought home by one perfect swing of the bat. The ENTIRE season comes together in one badass moment. Walkoff grand slams are absolutely amazing, especially with all of the added factors like I mentioned. There are few things better in sports :)

Goddamn, that Lindor clip never ceases to give me chills. And I’m not saying I’ve memorized the FOX and WEEI calls for Papi and Vic’s home runs, but... Anyway, since I’m on a Red Sox tangent, I’d like to have seen Johnny Damon’s slam in game 7 of the ‘04 ALCS. He was pretty much 0-for the entire series, hits that monster in the 2nd inning, and sucked the tiny amount of fight left right out of the Yankees and the stadium; Sox cruised to an easy victory after that.
