Hey Fedor, I would love to see how you work through different, random 9 ball layouts. To hear what you are thinking, get to see exactly how you are striking the cue ball and your follow through, up close. That would be unique and very useful to us players.

Fedor, the consistency of your ROUTINE is amazing and to be commended. Every shot, your set up and routine exactly the same. I've been a huge fan of the game for a long time and you're definitely one of the best I've seen in that regard.

Bert Kinister invented this drill. Niels Feijen was Bert's student when he was a teenager. Niels appears in several of Bert's instructional videos. The 60 Minute Workout is still the best instructional video for learning to play position in 9-ball.

I'm an intermediate pool player (APA 4 in 9-ball for reference) and I'm learning how to control the cue ball - seeing the drills not only with the English, but also the power really helped me put the shots in perspective, especially how a pro interprets what low, mid, and high powered shots look like. Thank you for the video!

@@christosnicolaou6165 of course I could spend some time this week to record myself making this exercise but I don't think that is needed. It's not a really difficult exercise, you need to make only one type of shot to complete the drill. In my opinion any player of intermediate level can complete it, just a matter of time (plus making this drill is not as important, as actually practising the type of shot itself)
@christosnicolaou6165

@billiardgrinder it's not difficult???i bet you anything that you cannot complete it. If any intermediate player would succeed on this drill i would quit pool:))
@Dzusk
@Dzusk Жыл бұрын
@@christosnicolaou6165 just like I said I made it few times. I exaggerated a little that anyone can do it. It is still a very challenging drill but the shots that you have to make aren't as difficult, it's all about consistency that makes it tough

Thanks so much for these videos. I remember two of the exercises from when I was younger but forgot details. Now we get to see you work through them. It's difficult to keep innuendo out when trying to compliment your stroke. It's perfect though. I try to emulate it when I play. Maybe one day I'll be half as fluid.

I do a drill like this but the rules are simpler. All balls on the rail. Shoot in any order but first shot must be out of the kitchen. No combination shots and cueball cannot contact any other ball or you have to start over. I'll give this drill a try Fedor, thanks

Very nice video Fedor, love the way you show the force of the stroke and the spin you're putting on the cue ball for each shot. I think exercises geared toward intermediate and lesser skilled players would be best, please remember we aren't at your level of play.

Fantastic video, Fedor! Thanks for taking the time to put this together to help us get better. The takeaway for me is the confidence you have to bring the cue ball across the table that close to the side pocket knowing you aren't going to scratch. Years of practice will develop that I imagine. Thanks for sharing and best of luck going forward! (Oh, how's the citizenship paperwork coming along? Mosconi 2023 is coming fast and Team USA needs YOU! :D )

Great drill, do you use back hand english to maintain the shot line and derive the desired spin? A number of times you came very close to the middle pocket but still never caught the jaw? Have you a rule of thumb for that when you're down on the cueball or is that just touch? Glad I found this channel.

hey fedor, i came to this video for help with this drill. is it just much much harder to do it with the balls frozen to the rail? specifically, the type of shot like 2 to 3. if they are frozen, the cue ball's tangent line is ever so slightly forward so you'd need more spin? or maybe it's just heavily dependent on table conditions, maybe grabbier rails will make the shots more possible?
@FedorGorstPro
