Just saying, this exercise wont help you in games, you need to be ready to block four different paths, and you are supposed to read the setter not the attacekr

That's not true. As a blocker, you need to read everything. The setter's body language, the ball's direction, the hitters' approach (what angle are they approaching from, where is their chest facing), the timing of the swing etc. That's only scratching the surface. Reading the attacker helps because you increase your chances of getting a kill block.
