Exeter Cathedral - Ringing up the Tenor

A few screw ups at the start because I was new to strapping, but I feel I did well considering the last bell I had rung was only 10cwt
This bell is nicknamed 'Grandisson' (after a medieval Bishop of Exeter) and is the second-heaviest change ringing bell in the world, weighing 72cwt, or 3.6 tons. It's also incredibly satisfying to ring.

When I rang there it took us about three minutes to get Grandisson up. As you say it's a bloody gorgeous bell!

he's a great bell but very confusing at first, i didnt realise the sally was much longer than average ones so kept catching it far too high, and of course he's a hell of a weight swinging round so it takes a bit of skill to ring it in rounds (skill i didnt have back then & probably still dont have!! -c-)
