There's no specific number. The bottom line is a diesel engine with DPF system its not a good idea for small commutes (shopping or taking kids to school) or to be driven mainly inside towns at small speeds. They were designed for motorway use, or at best once in a while to take it to a motorway and drive them like you stole them. Falling to do this results on clogged DPF system, cars that never reach their operating temperatures and a lot of problems and money waisted in expensive repairs down the line. Small commutes and driving inside towns either electric or small petrol engines that were designed to be fuel efficient under those conditions.

I'm getting a low efficiency code for my altima. I'm suspicious that the catalytic converter is actually clogged up. P.s good job though on the advice ! Also I never Ben a first comment .

Hey Allen, there are many other things that may cause the code and the exhaust restrictions are only one possibility. Charge air leaks, improper intake or even intake air metering device may be the problem. It all depends on other symptoms you notice by the problem. Smoke, noise, fuel consumption, oil level, other errors stored by the ECU...
