and what about an owl noise? especialy when revs going down? i've got this issue. my turbo makes owl sound since 1k to 2k RPM and sińce 2k to 1k RPM when revs decreasing. above 2k no noises at all. no lack of power.

Question, On a 3.0 TDI Touareg there is a turbo that doesn’t have oil intake or drain line, oil seems to be pumped from under the turbo, how that works?

Man i think i have that prob but im not to sure im not Pro i just learn from youtub all about cars So im Explain my issue 1 maf sensor plugeddd in ( difficult to pass 3000 rpm and loot smoke white or blue idk when i unplugg maf not comes untill i reach max rpm then goes again smoke out 2( i pres gas pedal it not response like should be it hezitate also gain speed after passing more 2000 rpm 2500rpm 3( when i go uphill in 3 gear not goes more than 60kmh it looks like goes limp mode i pres gas pedal but nthg Also in Highway It goes 100 110 kmh And Make that same thing limp mode again when i turn off and on car for some 2 or 5 min drive good and then same Also intercooler pipe idk how u called that goes into Turbo i feel my hand too oily in that place and in Ac compressor can u plz Help me i need badly help

Turbos, like transmissions, should have their own separate lubrication system. Being lubricated with worn-out, contaminated (with gas and carbon) engine oil is insane.

Just replaced the compressor & expansion valve on my f150. Put 3 oz of oil & 24 oz of freon per the tag under the hood. The high side goes to 300, the fan comes on the pressure drops fast to 200 then starts climbing back to 300 cycles over and over.. The ambient temperature 78 the vent temperature is 39. Would my dryer in the condenser be bad or the condenser messed up? What say you?

Hi can you help... I have a hissing when i exelorate and a fu fu fu noise when i leave off the throttle could this be a vacume leak?? Of is it a failing turoo car runs fine no miss idle no bad response or turbo lag or smoke just this anoying noise seem to happen when one of the deisel enjectos failed. Can you plz shed some light ???

Should the smoke be coming from the exhaust non stop ? I notice white smoke when the car idles sometimes. It doesn’t happen all the time

I have a hissing sound on 2200rpm and used to get overboost error and limp mode. Hissing sound still there but no more limp mode over 3000rpm. Lag in accelleration andlist a bit of power. No smoke.

Im a bit late but could a bad turbo also cause a misfire? I know my turbo is failing as I have a lack of power when driving. It even makes a bad screeching noise around 2.5K-3k rpms.

I’ve heard noticeable chirping noise that starts around 4k ish rpm and I can’t figure out if it’s the turbo or not. I’ve took it to Audi to get the headlights adjusted and I asked to check the engine because I’ve noticed a weird noise. They said they didn’t hear anything unusual and did a multipoint inspection. I feel like it is a bit slower than it used to be when I give it full throttle. The noise isn’t always apparent so I don’t know if it is a major issue or not. I just hit 20k miles also.

I just bought a car with a turbo, I’m the second owner, I had a feeling something was wrong with it because I kept smelling faint smell of burning oil but it did need an oil change so my bf convinced me there was nothing wrong! Right away I got the oil change! As I continued to drive it over time I kept smelling it worse and my car was sluggish! I took in the other day and they noticed there was leaking oil but wasn’t sure where, also I had no oil in my car they said! So they filled it up and drove it to make sure she was still ok! But they did an inspection and they said she was and referred me to go back to the dealer or to someone that specializes in turbo because my leak was somewhere in the turbo. I have an appt on July 11 at the dealership for an inspection but I checked my oil today and it’s black. I called the original place I got my car inspected and told them and they said it’s normal for turbo oil to turn black right away, but I’m weary and don’t want to do any further damage to my vehicle untill I get the inspection at the dealership! Please help with advice! Someone else suggested I get a flush and oil change y till the inspection even though I still have the leak because he said it’s not supposed to be that dark but he’s not a mechanic and don’t know anything about turbo🤷‍♀️ so I need advice from some one that does know! Please help me I’m tryn to save my car! I’m not rich🙏😔

Hi Robin, After replacing the turbocharger my car has black smoke and low power. After som research I find a very glogged map sensor. I clean the map sensor and managed to remove a lot of oil and carbon from the hull in the intake manifold. I clean the map sensor 6 time. Now I have no black smoke. The engine has low power when cold. After 15 minutes drive and the engine get hot over 80 or higher. I can stop and start again now my turbo is working. What do you think is my problem? Is my intake manifold to glogged of oil carbon that the flaps do not work as it should. Do I need a complete clean of the intake manifold? Last three days my turbocharger is working fine after 15 to 20-minute drive. Any good suggestion? Please help me

But what if the sound you get when under load is more like a old bi-plane? Like a hole in the exhaust noise... When idling or even revving in neutral, I don't get the noise. But when I get to around 2,500rpm it gets really loud.

What abou revving the engine with system and consequently l, cold oil, how doing that affect turbo lifetime? I see some modern stock turbo engines are electronically rev limited while cold. .

Best way to fix it is to replace it with a supercharger, unless you have a diesel. You will have much better response, less heat buildup, and less junk under the hood. making it more fun to own and drive.

I keep getting P0238. It's not the sensor or wies and no leaks. The turbo seems to be getting hot very quickly and doesn't seem to spool like normal. Not sure if the sound difference is turbo failure or cold air intake. No exhaust smoke.

Hey, Ive fitted my car with a rebuild turbocharger. There is a weird noise form it ... sounds like a wind in the chimney ... something like that. Do you have any ideas? Car might be burning oil as well, but i havent drive around enough to confirm this
