Ive run the SHA clone Dellorto/HP carbs on sevwral engines and have had a bike with 24" wheels and a 30T rear sprocket that topped out at 52MPH running that little Dellorto Clone carb. I personally also like to original NT Speed carbs with the extra fuel shutoff on them, great little carbs for the 66/80cc China Girl engines and not hard to get a bike to run low 40s MPH if all else is right with the ild NT carbs or the Dellorto Clone carb. people call the HP carb. For me the best overall daily rider reliability is in keeping it simple and those little carbs do that job perfectly. Another Great Video Johnnie

@JMB676 It sucks riding in 35F rain ☔ but sure better than walking.... Looking at your backyard gave me an idea 💡 You could maybe build a cheap diy tarp shelter workshop out of tarps & free wood or metal poles, if you had room. Instead of buying a $250 portable metal pole tarp shelter. You could make wood poles out of straight tree 🌲 branches about 2-3 inches in diameter, for a frame. The same way Indians used wood poles for tipi frames.... Then if you could scrounge up a metal locker, lock box, etc.. to lock your tools up in...With a $120 flux welder & a couple metal dryers. You could make a big metal lock box to lock 🔐 tools in. Anyways, hope things are going ok there 4 ya fellow motorized bicyclist 👍 If I wasn't sore AF all the time, I wanted to build a diy tarp shelter. I use an old swing set frame now often. To hang my bike or motorcycle from when working on it. Or hang parts on it to paint.

I use to be a big supporter of the hp, or delorto style carburators. That was until i finally tried the Bofeng. There is no comparison between the two, and i noticed big power gains when i stopped using the hp, rt or whatever
@JMB676
@JMB676 2 ай бұрын
@@KB_Joys that’s funny, I find the bofang to be complete garbage. They are congestive for the motors imo. As long as you put the right jet in the hp carb I think it’s the best for a daily rider, but for me it’s a lot about the auto choke feature. I think it’s super helpful and makes the morning simple. But I do find it interesting how each person can have a different experience or opinion on the same product. In the video you can see I lost 4mph top speed using the bofang and that was with the f3 thruster. On the mz bomber pipe it’s 4-5mph lost. I get less smooth idle also and all through the rev range. Thanks for posting I enjoy seeing everyone’s opinions and thoughts.

@JMB676 the stock jetting on the Bofeng can be off, as they are used on lots of motors. I have about 4 RT carbs, and an Arbeo delorto clone that are straight up garbage. I use to advocate for these all the time. All you gotta do is measure the inside cavity, is it bigger than a Bofeng? Nope 🤷

@ I get what you’re saying and the jets are definitely off sometimes but for me I find so many flaws in their design and usually just from the casting. They need a lot of small work to make them flow well out the box and I just don’t want to go through it since they have different style jets. I rather just use one of my n/t or if it’s my daily I use the hp for the choke. Those can require jet changes too of course but once they have the right jet even compared to a bofang with the proper jet I find the hp carb or old school n/t or speed carb will always out perform if given a even playing field from all my testing. They rev smoother and higher on each motor I have tried them on. I have shown it in many videos from my yd100 to bling to Tweaker and jokester. Literally so many times. I totally get your point of view cause I definitely wish those other carbs had the easy bowl drain for when they get water in them and I wish they had the much stronger intake attachment point cause those are very nice feature.

The jets are the same as most oko or pwk larger carbs and same as the N/T carbs that used to come with the kits. Don’t quote me on this part but I believe they are 5mm jets but I can’t remember for sure. BikeBerry has a great selection of jets in their site and you can buy single jets and sizes that are hard to find. I bought a large variety off amazon so I had all I need from 50-140. I believe the one I used in it was the 68 but it’s been months now and just don’t remember exactly.

I want some ideas for my beach cruiser that I build but originally had 29” wheels and I put 26”s. All I got is a coaster and the bracket for the caliper brake is not in the right location now. I wish I could figure out a disk & coaster set up
@JMB676
@JMB676 Ай бұрын
@@animalt.v.4592 first the frame your talking about is not under construction yet but will be before spring I’m hoping. As far as brakes, definitely ditch the coaster brakes since they can be very dangerous and in an emergency your first instinct will be to use them from muscle memory all the back from being a kid. Just not worth using in any situation on a motorized bike imo. For the disk brakes you can definitely set it up on any bike but for instance. My daily Jokester. It is a onyx/Kent brand beach cruiser with 29” wheel from factory. I kept the size but got threee spoke Mags for reliability tea but they have rotor style brakes. The frame was not set up for them and it took a good bit of R&D and work to get them to work how they do now. Best way I found to figure it out is get the wheel you want to use and put the disk in it and mount the wheel up like you want it to be and tighten the caliper onto the rotor by simple adjusting the caliper to clamp onto the rotor. This will hold the caliper straight and where you need it. From there, you simple start building the bracket that will hold the caliper you will need. Depending on the frame will allow to decide how you will build it. Some frames you can drill into the dropouts if there is enough meat there and other like mine you need to think outside the box. For me I knew I wanted a basket and it needed to be strong. So I knew where the caliper needed to be this way the supports were not in my way of the brakes but also I could then build offf the baskets rack to house the bracket needed to hold the caliper. My first try at the brake bracket was a fail. It looked good and seemed strong but one day (I have a vid of it) I had to slam on my brakes and the huge amount of force on the bracket bent it and broke the rotor and all the brackets I had holding the caliper. So I went back and did it again but this time way stronger and with better angles. Now mind you I do not buy anything besides the actual rotor and caliper for the project and everything else I just made out of straps and hand tools. It just time to think it through well so it’s safe. A good rule of thumb is if there is any wiggle/flex/deflection once it’s tightened up it’s not strong enough at all. It doesn’t need to be heavy or thick metal or anything like that. It just needs to be ridged and something that won’t snap under a hard brake situation. Sorry can’t help more but when it comes to brakes gettin fitted to a bike that wasn’t designed for them it’s really a frame specific type thing and needed to be engineered by the person building the bike. There’s many ways to go about it but I find reusing materials from cars or trucks or other bikes or like mine scrap metal from a guys pickup truck (my braces were from a dentist office table originally) is the best option cause one it’s cheap if not free and just looking at how a manufacturer did something helps spark ideas into you head to imitate something that was already there but with your own need filled in.

@@JMB676 Yea. I guess you are right. You did say somewhere, something along the lines of targeting inexperienced buyers, for kids (I don't agree with selling poo parts to make a buck.. sounds like a predatory tactic to me). I suppose you are way more honest than the BBR website itself. Sorry for the negative comment. While I realize rejetting the carb is essential when changing the exhaust to have a properly running engine and this was not covered, kids brains are sponges (they can handle the truth) and while some people are lazy, most of those people dont build bikes. A kids budget would have a hard time keeping up with the BBR prices, especially for subpar products. I own one of these engines and I agree that it has lasted in its stock form longer than my other engines that were not stock however, performance parts should be just that. It would be cool if you optimized your carb for the setup and show how, rather than slapping parts on with the same tune. Not everyone needs to do 50mph and some need more low end torque to pull their weight or a trailer up a hill and desire less speed. I said what I said because people watch these things hoping to learn something and shining everything in a positive light doesn't help anyone, especially when tuning for the setup has not been done. I could go on about BBR and their selling tactics but the last thing I will say is "targeting inexperienced buyers". Maybe slap some parts on and then do some tuning to max out the setup. That is what the people want.
