I'm 53 next month, after watching your videos and others I've only just started to be more organised in the last few yrs ,when my children were all home I have 5 it was hard to keep on top of everything, now with 7 grandchildren that I care for when it's holidays etc I have 3 up to 6 grandchildren x some days I literally have no energy to do anything another day I do lots ,not like yrs ago I would clean a 4 bedroom house top to bottom, and garden, make dinner as well ,and I was married but husband left me so for 18yrs ive been a single mum x my youngest two were 1 and 2 when he left x

Hey darling 😃 I think that’s another thing we look back to what we could do when we had less children or was a bit younger or had a smaller house to deal with etc and compare what we did then to what we do now (we are our own worst enemy’s us women 😅) for me it’s not that I want my home to look like a show home but I feel more stressed when my house is a HUGE mess it does bother me and I also know cleaning with young children is pointless but if I left it completely I would have a house that resembles a hoarders paradise and would be dangerous 😂 I always say cleaning with a toddler is like having an black bag with a hole in it as you go through the house and put things in the bag there is a trail of mess behind you that came out the hole of the bag (the toddler) 😅 By the way well done to you for raising 5 kids as a single mum because that must of been hard but also rewarding I take my hat off to you! @TheMummyVlogger the ex husband was harder work then 5 kids, he left me pregnant with 5th baby for another woman ,it took along to get over it x my oldest is 33 and youngest 19 they all are amazing I still give myself a hard time that I failed as a parent, but I see my 3 daughters as mum's themselves and know I must of done something right x

Don’t be hard on yourself. You are doing amazing. We can only do our best. I have started a channel as it keeps me motivated to make videos and hopefully motivate others. But there are times when I get totally overwhelmed with a home , family and a job it just feels too much. We definitely shouldn’t put too much pressure on ourselves. ❤

I was 53 this year too and I think over the last few years I’ve become more organised about my home and have loved SOME of the content out there about declutterring because having less is definitely easier for me. I remember the saying that it’s like an onion do things in thin layers don’t try to do it all at once. I just went round the first time doing obvious rubbish and that in itself felt amazing then layer by layer I went round sorting. I think the older I’ve got the more I’ve realised I only need things in my home that mean something to me… until you do a home haul of course @TheMummyVlogger 😂 xx

Aww, my love, I can hear in your voice that your brain is working over time. Please can you take your own "fab" advice. I've been there when my kids were little, and I as I got older and my kids (I'm 42) I realised no one else was putting pressure on me for a tidy home, lovely dinners or great days out but me. I was, and you are holding yourself too accountable. You re doing fu* King amazing, and that's what's got to celebrated. Give yourself heeps of grace, much love 😊

The smooth glass cleaning cloths used with just water are amazing for windows and mirrors. A quick buff with a microfibe to finish and no streaks.

Your new wooden unit in the lounge looks much nicer than the white one. It creates that more warm, homey look, it will be nice to see it styled with all your ornaments on. 😅 Yes I know what you mean hun I am with you on that one! I like the different color furniture! Remember; the darker or honey colors create a sense of WARMTH. I know a lot of people like white b/c they feel it looks “Clean”- but sometimes it also feels sterile and cold. I feel for myself that it takes me a lot more work to keep everything looking white/staying white. And also it feels like it takes more items for me to get it feeling welcoming. Be careful with how many pieces of furniture you have too.(I know you know how it goes with all the kids stuff everywhere😂) Sometimes the more surfaces, the more opportunities to “fill them up” or feel like “oh I’ve got plenty of room to collect more items”. I fall into that trap. We actually got rid of a massive glass front cabinet in our family Room because I felt I needed to keep every shelf looking full all the time. So I would buy items that I didn’t need and just collected dust, to place in that area. Also in my house, only one of my four kids is tidy. All my other kids couldn’t care less (they get it from their dad’s side who are collectors and hoarders.) so with more spaces, they leave stuff or pile stuff everywhere. Be careful b/c the exhaustion could also be depression setting in. And I’ve been where you are now! You don’t need to do everything. It took me a long time to realize that the ONLY PERSON putting those expectations on myself is ME. Especially when my kids were toddlers, I came to the point where if all I did the whole day on my list was ONE ITEM, one activity, one chore- it was ENOUGH. That meant I could cross off at least one item, and I could still feel a sense of accomplishment. It also really helped when I began to ignore everyone else’s rules and “ideas” about what the perfect mom, wife, and home maker was, and just did what I could. My husband is wonderful and doesn’t put any expectations on me. He supports me in whatever I choose to do (I do also work hard around the home) but he’s pretty easy to get along with. I know that is a blessing, and a lot of people have to live with difficult partners and family members. You’ve got to get yourself a really supportive group of mom friends too! See if you can join a playgroup, or church group, or go for coffee with some of the moms at your kids school. The more people you have to talk to who are in the same stage of life as you, the better! Don’t underestimate the importance of just hanging out and gabbing with others going through similar things as you. Can’t tell you how many times I felt so much better after having talked things over with my friends, my sisters, family Members or co-workers. Let someone else know when you’re struggling. Even if all they can do is be a good listener! It’s important. ❤

Ah Bless. We all have been there and yes you likely put too much pressure on yourself. Your a great mum and your doing great especially with your own health, it isn’t all plain sailing. Just do what you can when you can as it will always be waiting for you but the kids grow up so fast it’s more important watching them grow. Love love the new unit. Wouldn’t it be great if we could do the cleaning at that speed lol. Thanks for sharing ❤

I’m watching your video 2 days after coming back from holiday .. I only managed to do 2 loads of holiday washing and since watching your video I’ve put in another load of washing , folded the 1st load from the dryer , moved over the 2nd load to the dryer & line and put the 3rd load on.. my 3 boys are away at their dads so I just have my younger 3 (7,4 & 7months ) and their hard work in them self 🤣 next week when the new bedroom furniture arrives the little 3 are going to their nanny’s house for a few days with daddy so I can build the furniture, rearrange 2 bedrooms and declutter & organise the 3rd bedroom of the girls toys .. slowly but surely things will get done 🙌🏻 xx

Honestly, I was doing it all too ,and even though I’m older than you,I ended up having a heart attack. I have now learnt to slow it down a bit now and enjoy life with my family xxxxx

Honestly this is one of the reasons I wanted to mention in the video that I’ve just been so exhausted but to warn others not to over do it because where my blood pressure is extremely high for the past year I’ve had many health scares and when you think about it, is any of the things we stress about daily really worth the worry or stress? Like we can worry and stress all we want but if we ruin our health by doing that then what’s the point… health is wealth and I will always say that because there is no point in having the tidiest house or thousands in the bank if you won’t be here to see or enjoy it. The best thing too clean mirrors and wipe down furniture and doesnt tarnish the finish is Method glass cleaner. Ive been usind it for years.

Sunday, 08/09/24, I am exhausted from working from home, juggling two girls… I am now in bed and I do not feel guilty that my room and closet are soooo messy right now!As it is nearly 6pm so I am getting up and cleaning the house now… mind you, this is my only day off this week!! This is so off not watched your channel in a while. I have 1 extra kid as have 4 3 now teenagers youngest is now 6. When smallest was born she was in our room. When she was 1 we moved house she was still in our room and we had exactly same toddler bed. But as she mostly co slept it became area to dump surplus clean washing brought back flashbacks. We since moved our bedroom downstairs as had 2 lounges. Split 1 bedroom in 2 so all 4 have their own room/ space. However same problem remained in winter got so cold and youngest was ill came back in our bed stayed since her bedroom. As mess and bed full of clothes. Bedtime routine pretty rubbish too hope same as you to reset late August as she's year 2 then.. I like your kallax unit I think wood and woven bits work well with white and autumn decor home bargains had some nice stuff other day maybe nice woven pumpkin and autumn candle on top of kallax unit. Have to say aldi impressed me with their led candles if want a safer option. How about introducing some sage green accents or burnt orange into living room with cushions/ throws/ candles accessories think could look really cost and warm the room up a bit

Hey hun 😃 We haven’t quite decided 100% if we want to do a loft conversion or move yet hence the wait to get her own room but like you said there is no rush as having her own room will be for “show” right now because I remember my eldest hardly used her room for the first 6 years 😂 I want to make the right decision whether that be to extend or move whichever might be the best solution for us for the future. Thank you for your recommendations with what I should do with the living room I really appreciate this because since having Olivia and with my health not being great I almost lost my mojo a bit and I’m welcoming that to return this autumn and get stuck on with what I love doing which is home decor etc 😃 You sound like you had all the same things going on when your youngest was little and I love a relatable comment makes me feel like it isn’t just me 😅 Hope you are very well and thank you so much for watching hun, enjoy the rest of your evening 🥰😘💖 xxx

@TheMummyVlogger apologies for spelling mistakes. I don't think people realise larger gaps can be tricky as my teenagers are 13/14 and 18 so they have later bedtimes combined with light nights means my 6 year old never want to go to bed. I want her back in her own bed a she gets really hot at night and moves around a lot so sleep better when she stayed at nanny's so that's a goal for me clear her bedroom and start her sleeping in it. The teenagers rooms are dire. My 6 year old room is tiny so many toys dumped in open plan diner/ living room downstairs feel like I can't escape the clutter. We definitely have too much stuff abd feel your pain with clothes. O get overwhelmed with clean washing everyone has too much. Eldest managed own wardrobe but other 3 and even husband need help. I know I need a huge declutter and deep clean. However I work 3.5 days a week when I get home the kids used every cup/ plate/ cutlery so as soon as I get in it's clean kitchen/ dishwasher. Our lounge has doors to garden so dog and kids constantly traipsing in dirt. Hallway shoe cabinet and coat legs overflowing that's if teenagers can be bothered. Between doing the washing/ cleaning kitchen/ walking the dog/ meal planning / cooking and shopping I feel too tired evenings / days off to tackle it. Trying to tackle 6 year old room and landing a bit today have so much go recycling/ or charity as have tiny.l airing cupboard too much bedding. I think I'm going be stict no new season items until I got rid of significant amount. I do see some clean with me videos on you tube or house tours and feel like I'm failing. One account I'm enjoying and you might too is called the space maker its American but she helps people who have far too much stuff in a gentle way. She doesn't achieve Pinterest level home decor or minimalism but she does seem group things together/ organise what the person wants to keep without getting rid of it all.

You do alot hun and I know with policistic kidneys , you do feel drained sometimes hun , just keep at a sensible pace ( easier said than done!!) When you have 3 kids ❤ take care x
