The one thing I love about you guys is that you honestly want to experience in full namely the culture, celebration, weather and the traditional festive food of Malaysia. Escaping from bustling cities and visiting villages - mingling with the folks. It is the right time to visit Malaysia with eidultfitr (raya) in the corner. It literally suits the theme of "Balik Kampung" - and you choose the right Malaysian to connect and right places - Negeri Sembilan/Melaka. Despite I'm from Kelantan, I really love the states in the South esp. Negeri Sembilan - perhaps it's because I see a different culture and people.

It would be a good thing to always check the weather forecast before going anywhere in Malaysia. As a Malaysian myself, checking the weather forecast, traffic jams (which is massive during festive seasons) on highways etc is a must for me.

@@ftinftin8937 Yes you get that sometimes but once it rained heavily on the highways , you can be "blinded" by the heavy rain despite your wipers are put on full speed. It's good if you can stop at the nearest R & R for a while, a gas station perhaps.

@AlexSDU2 жыл бұрын
@@JetLagWarriors It's same like Hari Raya or Christmas. You don't need tickets or something like that. Hopefully you'll have some local willingly take you along to celebrate it. Though I don't know about how Pesta Kaamatan celebrate in Sabah, but in Sarawak, the Dayaks celebrate Gawai, and to feel the 'kampung' experience during Gawai is by going to the rural area where they still have longhouse. I remember watching the two ladies from Beer For Breakfast videos where they went to a longhouse few years ago before Covid. Though it was not during Gawai.
@JetLagWarriors2 жыл бұрын
@@AlexSDU Thanks so much! So is it also like Hari Raya where people go house to house and makan makan?
@AlexSDU2 жыл бұрын
@@JetLagWarriors Well, you can it similar like how we celebrate Raya, especially those in the city. But in the rural/kampung area where they still have longhouse(s), the celebration would be more festive. And there would lots of Tuak(rice wine) drinking going on, and traditional dancing too. And if you lucky, you might get to see some of the preserved heads hanging on the longhouse's ceiling(though we have some in Sarawak State Museum too), from the old days of headhunting. Maybe you could try contact Sarawak Tourism Board. Hopefully they can arrange some tours for your guys in Sarawak. Also Rainforest World Music Festival will be on the 17th-19th June.
