Egbert: "I'm searching for atonement" Also Egbert: *clobbers old man over a seemingly unrelated crime*

Well, in his chaotic way; he has done some good... All the servants in the manor will asume the rich man is now dead, so the collection will actually be open forever to the public... it's good for humanitty... kinda XDD

Thank you Egbert for demonstrating that just because something has a one in six chance of happening doesn't mean you only have to do it six or so times to make it happen.
@Malkontent10034 ай бұрын
Yup, because each time has a one in six, it doesn't go one in six, one in five, etc. Every try is one in six. XD

Such an important quest for Oxventure, introducing the orb, Seal Gaiman, Panniers relation with Panniers 2 and most importantly the monkey butt coin, which I am sure will return having great relevance and saving the life of the oxventurers in a future episode.

Don’t forget this is also the straw that broke the camel’s back when it comes to the skeletons, leading to Bone to Pick.

As if we needed another example of why Oxventure is great, I love how in this session we see actions and consequences so clearly. The gang trips the alarm, which prompts Egbert to hit Dietrich, which prompts Dietrich to hit the button for the robot guards, which in turn forced the rest of the gang into combat, which resulted in Merilwen moonbeaming the ceiling. Johnny set the situation up, and the rest of the team knocked it down. In Egbert’s case, quite literally.

what i love most about this, is that egbert has only successfully managed to roll a six on that cursed mace three times, and only one of them was an accident.

Egbert is the best character in the history of D&D, and you can’t convince me otherwise.

After all these years, I love that this absolutely could have been an episode where Egbert just got a really cool mace. It will, however, be the episode he clobbered an old man with said mace in a way reminiscent of the end of Whiplash and then kidnapped said old-man in his newly seal-y prison. I wonder if he’ll finally get atonement in Series 6! :)

I still love that it never occurred to anyone other than Egbert to just explain what they needed the coin for and ask for it.

Honestly, I blame Dob for Merilwen's Oppsie. Ellen's absolute conviction when casting her spell turning to outright panic was amazing to watch.

I feel so very bad for the old man. He seemed genuinely so kind. He opened his home to everyone and free entry on his death. And genuinely wanted to hear about and support levashmauve
@Dancingpinata-3 ай бұрын
I wouldn’t feel too bad! The whole lighthouse seems to be a reference to the British Museum (mentions of items being gained via colonizing and plundering, and himself stealing the artifacts from others during his “adventuring days”). Considering some of the items mentioned (both explicitly and implied) are super deadly and the implication on how he got some of them, he definitely has blood on his hands. Not even to mention the absolute stone cold action of him turning a guy into a chicken and eating him basically with no remorse until Egbert called him out. Potential thieves or not, there’s “hundreds” of sunken ships alone around the island due to his defense system (Jonny even said that while some were pirate ships some looked like ordinary civilian vessels so some innocent people definitely wandered into the wrong seas). I mean, whether he deserved it or not is up to interpretation but I don’t think he was supposed to be seen as “genuinely kind”? The museum comes off more as being part of his legacy than done out of pure education too. Completely subjective though!

@k3nbos1ice23 oh no I totally get it! It's much easier to be more logical when not making a decision yourself! I'm that way too- I can never pick the mean/bad karma option in video games or DnD myself and tend to always be neutral at minimum 😅

Does the mace have to be forcefully hit to the target in order for them to be turned into an animal? If not, just keep nudging or poking him while he's unconscious. Edit: IMMEDIATELY after I unpaused, Egbert had the same idea.

How is Egbert still a paladin after this? He should lose his paladinhood and have to atone for his awful behaviour. He's awful. Maybe make him into a death knight or something in future episodes, he'd suit it so much better.
