That's why they created groove. A lot of bands followed suit including Pantera and Lamb of God. Basically Groove Metal is thrash metal but more emphasis on the riffs and vocals.

Both good bands but kyle himself said pantera worked way harder at becoming a success. That and pantera was there to carry the flag back in the 90s more than a lot of bands anyway. Plus they had dimebag who influenced a shit ton of people to pick up the guitar. Both are great bands though.

If you really wan't to hear that "Pantera" sound, go listen to their studio albums (Slaughter... & The Law) and don't base your opinion on a live performance where they've aged a lot and now sounded slight different because of the amps their using at that gig.
