Paul Martin is so talented. Thumb style guitar, bass, if I'm not mistake, pedal steel too. And the guy can sing too! I do find it interesting how much he sounds like JP when singing the earlier Exile numbers.

Paul definitely sounds like JP, but notice he doesnt sound like Les Taylor. Les and JP had reclaimed the Exile name in 1995, just the two of them with a new lineup and probably the most rocking version other than the original early 80s lineup. Sonny has an excellent voice for lead vocals which is overshadowed by his excellent bass playing and I would like to hear a solo album from Sonny.

I think Paul Martin and Lee Carroll brought needed energy to Exile who got bogged down with a low energy line-up. "Keep It In the Middle of the Road" is their most uptempo hit and their best song thanks to Paul and Lee.
