I met Paul Martin that year of 1992. Great guy. Reconnected with his wife on fb recently. Love that family. And one Exile was one of the best ❤❤❤

I just saw Exile up at the Big E, in West Springfield, Massachusetts, for Connecticut Day. And they were great! Yes, they even included "Super Love" as part of their line-up!! Sadly, they didn't do the guitar train. But, that's more of a nitpick than a complaint. So, let me repeat for the record: they were great. And I enjoyed myself, accordingly. Happy 58th anniversary, guys. :-)

Yup, this was before he got his break. He had released two singles “What Room Was the Holiday In” (1991) and “Welcome To the Club” (1992) before his self-titled debut album came out in 1993. And he released two more singles to that album afterwards: “Memory Lane” and “Two-Steppin’ Mind” which neither charted high. Curb Records was just about to give up on Tim and drop him from their roster, but Mike Borchetta (who was Curb’s Vice President at the time) convinced the label to give Tim one last try to make a name for himself and that’s when production of his second album “Not A Moment Too Soon” when into action and in the beginning of 1994, Tim released the first single to his second album called “Indian Outlaw” which became an instant success, it became a top 10 hit single peaking at No. 8 on Billboard’s country charts while also becoming a hit single on the pop charts peaking at No. 15 on the Billboard Hot 100. Soon after the success of “Indian Outlaw” and just days after the release of the album “Not A Moment Too Soon”, Tim released his second single to the album called “Don’t Take the Girl”, the song’s soft mellow lyrics and melody gained a much bigger response and it became Tim’s first number one the country charts and it became another big hit on the pop charts peaking at No. 17 on the Billboard Hot 100. This led Tim to becoming one of the biggest names ever in country music.

@sezwah1414You seem to know what you’re talking about. Especially the Telecommunication Act of the late 90s. It ruined the chance for an artist to break in a region or even a single powerful radio station - as for example John Conlee did with Rose Colored Glasses. The song was number one in various regions at different times hence the song never went to number one nationally despite it being a monster song. Those days are over. You’re either being played everywhere at once or not being played at all. After that Act came Napster and the business was slow in incorporate this paradigm shift into their plans. But that’s not all that bad; independent artists are having a better time of it now than they ever have.
