The GMK67. Arguably the best budget keyboard you can find in the market right now. For just under 60$, you're met with a solid barebones kit that's good to use out of the box.
Watch me go over the kit and do some modifications on the board. Please feel free to leave any kind of feedback as such will be appreciated!

The hardest thing so far is opening the case. I haven't done it yet 😅 Edit: My Dad opened it for me👍, but now I cannot unclip the cables due to not having pliers. I'll be back Sunday 👍 Sunday: I added that car insulator and the tape mod, and while trying to take out the large cable from the board, I almost smashed it. Lesson learned: take out the cable by pulling on the wires.

Hello. I love the vid. I love how straight to the point you were and how you explained everything. Just a few questions. Is there a reason you didn't use the IXPE switch foam? And also, Are the switches lubed or not because I know KTT has good stock switches?
@strikemods_
@strikemods_ 7 ай бұрын
Thank you! I didn't use the IXPE because in my experience, it makes the sound thinner than i want it to be. This is why either i'll just chuck it out, or put a sheet of .5mm PE foam if i want it poppier. Also, the KTT switches i used were hand lubed. The batch i got stock had spring and leaf crunch so i had to go the extra mile.

Ive modded a lot of other boards with batteries underneath, and so far no casualties! Pretty safe to say that its fine :) And with regards to the tape mod, as long as you use painters tape or masking tape, there will be no residue regardless of how long its been put on

can i use cotton wool instead of poly foam?

I've read before that cotton doesn't do well with keyboards. Try it at your own risk though

hi there im looking foward to build my gmk67, im trying to make my keyboard sound as deepest as possible as i accidentally bought the akko v3 yellow cream pro which is kind of high pitch which is not i what i was expecting, i see that gmk67 provide us with a pcb pad but i saw you took it out and replace it with PE foam mod instead, why do you replace it with PE foam? does using PE foam deepen the sound more? thankyou :)
