that's still pretty damned good imo. while i have been #1 in a few LFR (i know, LFR is meaningless lol) and that was a nice feeling i don't feel the need to be the very top damage dealer in our raids. if i can compete for top 3/5 even i'll be happy. i just recently finished my TOS 4 piece so i'm hoping for a bit of a power jump. time will tell :D

I am playing SP since TBC. I've always trusted shadowpriest/howtopriest guides and acted accordingly to those guides and i am really thankful to your work guys. But i have a 2 questions. 1) Imagine a scenario everything procced accordingly and i reached 60VF stack. Should i use second void torrent on that voidform to extend even more? or should i save it for second voidform to have more consistent voidforms? (Might sound silly but asking to be sure. Personally i feel like i should use second void torrent because its longer VF and more dmg for void torrent. But since you mentioned having consistent voidforms i was curious about this.) 2) This is regarding AS vs SL. AS can give us longer voidforms thats correct. Also alot of ToS bosses have some sort of adds, they die pretty fast on some cases but still they are present to proc more spirits. But SL gives 20% dmg bonus to VampTouch. Thats basicly VF starts ahead of 10VF stacks on every voidform. Considering Legendary Shoulder being strong and its only 3 stacks for both dots(also gives headstart to haste) but still thinking SL as around 10VF stacks(because of lacking haste bonus,only dmg so can drop it to 8-9VF stacks for VT only?) seems pretty strong to me. You also mentioned this in the guide at some point we might switch to SL and go little bit more mastery and less crit. So i was curious... My both questions also have correlation to each other because if i should not use second voit and save it for next voidform then AS loses its value abit i think. Also if you have data when to switch SL would be nice to know now. But its early to ask i guess. Btw... As a 10years old SP i am absent on discord channel. So used here to ask these specific questions. Hope you can answer here or add to website/comment on another video.

1. Save for the next voidform, the desync is not worth it in the long run, for short parses and rankings it is probably worth it though (like sub 2 minute stuff). Otherwise just hold it. 2. The problem with SL is also that it then destroys the sync of bender each voidform, which is huge. Thats why you dont see SL being used until you have like 20k haste at 940 ilvl (being honest with those numbers). We are still investigating this, but its somewhat on the backburner, just because of how far away that possibility is. -Publik

Norgannons Forsight boots aren't the greatest but if you have the chance to stand still long enough that movement while casting helps you keep dps!

Hey Publik, thanks for the guide. Question about trinkets... I have an 870 socketed (haste obv) arcano. I also was lucky to get a 905 Owl trinket and just picked up a 920 Spectral Thurible. Just wondering if/when what combo's would be best for ST or any of the cleave fights. Not exactly sure when arcano stops being top/useful compared to ToS trinkets. Specifically if the Owl trinket is only really good on ST or if it is better/worse/same on multi dotting targets. Thanks!

I would probably use Arcano/Thurible for everything to be honest, after the nerf to owl your level of it probably doesn't beat the other two in any fight type. -Publik

I was wondering, why dont try to couple mindbender with voidtorrent instead ? You can stay in void form much longer. You delay the use of mindbender a littlebit, when you arrive a 15 insanity you use your voidtorrent with the mindbender to up your insanity ( you can also use this with dispersion. ) 4 second of free insanity with mindbender + AS is a lot. If you time it right you might be able to do it every voidform.

The problem is that last thing. Unless you always have the same "stars align" scenario with tentacle and AS procs you could risk de syncing your voidforms. That bit is the tricky part and it could cost you a lot of dps. -Publik

So do I want to be weaving in MBs while DoTing new targets, similar to void bolt? With leg belt you can only DoT one target between each VB "rotation," so I feel like it takes forever to get the new targets DoTed. Or just forgo MB until everything is DoTed? My mindbender frequently gets offset from my void cycle and I don't know why. I use it at 25 stacks, but next time it's up I'm at 32 stacks and almost out of insanity, I need to disperse and wait for it to finish cooling down. Sometimes I miss entire void cycles and have to hold it for another 30 seconds. I have 4 set and I think 31% haste excluding my metronome.

think of it this way...mind bender (without the relic) lasts 21 seconds and is a 1 minute cd...if you pop it to extend your current VF to the max level, you exit VF with 39 seconds left on the cooldown. With the time to re-enter VF, if you want to have it up again at the ideal time, that ideal time would need to be 39s after you exit VF, so if it takes you 9s to get back into VF (i think that's long but this is my sitting on the toilet theorycrafting), you'd need to wait until 30 stacks the next time. Your 1st VF you won't have LI, but you'll likely have lust which should more than offset it.

There is a 1 GCD gap between casting Void Eruption and Void Bolt, usually it is better to get your one Void Bolt off to make sure your dots dont fall off while torrenting. In reality it isn't a huge deal, but a playstyle choice more than anything. -Publik

Always watch DBM timers and be ready for every mechanic. If there is something coming ahead in a few seconds plan that you will get it and move ahead of time. You can stutter step movement with Void Bolt (only move as you cast Void Bolt). -Publik

I have three questions both are for the 4 set t20 with 13k haste. 1.) once you reach 13k haste is the next cap for crit 25% and then dump the rest is mast or do you keep going above 25% crit? 2.) once you get your 4 set is it better to base your legendaries off of which is best while keeping your 4 set or to reach the most haste while keeping your 4 set. 3.) once you get high enough haste and can hold your mind bender and use your torrent on CD is it worth using torrent a second time at 64 stacks to prolong it or is it better to hold the CD so it doesnt mess up your following void form rotation?

Crit soft cap isn't until 35%+. Sephuz/Belt is best in all situations No it is not worth torrenting a second time, it will desync you too hard. -Publik

if you dont count what other gear u have at all go for chest and shoulders imo, but take chest and the legendary where u have the worst non legendary item

As a rule, never use Mindbender outside of VF, that includes opener. If you want a solid option on how to shorten your ramp up time in the opener, get a crafted neck and upgrade it to ilvl 900. The on use on that neck is really nice to get you into voidform quickly, or to help you stay in VF a bit longer. As an example, I play blood elf, and my opener is is Prepot > Pre Cast MB > SW:P > VT > Arcane Torent + Neck on Use. That gets me up to 70+ Insanity instantly. It's really nice imo.

Use pawn to figure out whats best gear wise, the links in the description can help you out (Magicsim as well). As far as owl goes, use it a few seconds after Mindbender, essentially your last 14 seconds of voidform. -Publik

I just leveled my priest, and shadow is by far the squishiest class out of all classes/specs, while leveling anyway. Does this continue once you get gear as well? I got AK40 and 48 traits as soon as i capped, but its still squishy as hell.

Nice video but i have a question. Today i did a raid as shadow, and there was an other shadow in the raid. I had less intellect and mastery(45%) than he had(79%), but i had ~14k haste with good metronome procs. So all in all he had more mastery/intellect only. Now tell me, how can he hit 700k max with vampiric touch, and i only hit 400k. Is it sure that haste/crit is the important? Mastery is raw dmg and seems better. Or just that intellect difference was responsible for the 300k dmg loss?

951001ify in reality gear means very little to overall damage output compared to how you play. Yes his VT did more, but if you have more haste you will have more ticks of VT. And our damage comes from other sources as well, namely mindbender being able to help us sustain longer voidforms and harder dot ticks. There's more to stats than what you see at face value. -Publik

Just so you don't use SWD when you are already capped on insanity. Use the first charge on CD and use the second charge when you need the insanity and the target wont die if you wait. -Publik

1 quick question.. if I'm still wearing t19 4 set, is it worth for me to change my talents already or should I keep SL/PI untill I get t20. Also there is not haste cap, however how much crit should you aim for and how much mastery should you try to keep in your opinion Publik?

Damian M the general idea for our stats is to grab as much haste as humanly possible by any means necessary and dump as much mastery you can, just get crit passively with the haste/crit gear that the bosses will drop

So you are saying that mastery has pretty much no value at the moment and no amount of it is required, like we had to keep around 4k crit with 7.2? so the picture now is haste>>>>crit (anything 4k+)>>mastery>>versa>int?

Definitely change your talents now, its significantly better to use AS and Mindbender even without T20. There isnt really low base numbers that im aware of for either crit or mastery. The one thing ill say that we know of now is a somewhat soft cap on crit at around 35%. That's about it though. -Publik

More or less, just don't let ilvl deceive you. Often times higher ilvl is better even if it has worse stats (to a point). That's why the pawn strings are super helpful in this decision making process. -Publik

I dont understand. How do u use shadow word death to get in void form when the fight just started? I thought shadow word death can only be used on enemies below 35%

Got one kinda nub question , recently I was struggling with 1,4M dps on Mistress. Was making 800k tops, that is with doting 3adds, cleaving. But mistake i was doing is , I was targeting mainly boss for VB,MB,etc...sometimes sniping death's. That was making 800k. Once I watched your vid's i realised u were nuking adds not a boss where possible. So..my q is : Adds has less versatility to mitigate our dmg on them , than boss, therefore our abilities hit bigger numbers on adds? So each fight i should prio adds nuking,doting,cleaving not boss.

Not really, which you target is entirely up to you it makes no difference. Usually I would just DoT the adds and go back to the boss, unless it is a priority target that needs to die ASAP. -Publik
