ExileLord Oh not to completely sync them lol, just to fine tune. Some people seem to have audio delay caused by their external hardware, and i've found that some songs just need strange calibration from watching streams. But thanks a lot, would be awesome if you got it working :D

joshua woods You have to have a deep understanding of programming and what C++ compilers do to a program among other things. Most of the time I am just staring at code and marking/making notes on different sections to help me later. Mapping out the note logic frame took about two weekends to get a good understanding of everything. The amount of effort you need to put in varies but if you're not a programmer already, I wouldn't get your hopes up. If you want to put in a ton of effort, nothing is impossible though. If you don't have any programming experience, you could download QueenBee which lets you edit the QB files of the game which determines a large amount of the behavior but usually not the core mechanics.

GHX X It's probably possible. One issue though is that there's no star power sprite for a star note. I'm not sure at the moment how to add new textures. They apparently have qb keys though.

ExileLord I'm on a i5-2500k, a GTX 670, 8 GB RAM (with pagefile enabled because the game, apparently, requires that) on Windows 7 64-bit. I turn off v-sync in the Nvidia Control Panel. I average around 1100 fps in-game with GHCP and lowest possible graphics.

Are you using the Xbox 360 x-plorer or les paul along with the Microsoft drivers? I'd check what the USB polling rate is although I really doubt that's the cause. You shouldn't be using X-padder or something if you are. I would search for Xbox 360 controller lag since this probably isn't a GH3 issue. Also make sure your Audio lag calibration is ~100ms (I don't know how severe the problem you're describing is). I don't think I have anything set for video lag.

Ironically, it never occurred to me that it might be the controller that isn't working as intended. I'm using the Xbox 360 wired x-plorer controller that shipped with the game. So, I'm not using any third-party/external drivers, just the ones that install when you plug it in. I'm not that technical when it comes to this -- how would you suggest to figure out what the polling rate is? Normally, with mice and other hardware you do this through the driver software that comes with it. however, that isn't really the case here. On the calibration side of things, I'm not sure that tinkering with it will help, at least not with the audio calibration. As far as I understand, the only thing audio calibration does, is offset the notes to better match the audio, it doesn't actually interfere with the hit window for an isolated note. Or am I completely wrong in understand this?

TOCS I really really doubt it's related to the polling rate but the behavior reminds me of the general problem that happens when actions get queued up (like when a window freezes, you click three times and the three clicks happen later possibly staggered). It sounds like Acai has a similar problem and solves it with this method: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bZnLoHl6l9R8m6M. It's a little hard finding any information in your scenario via google since V-Sync adds input lag by nature so you get a lot of irrelevent results. Without actually having your computer, I'm basically just throwing out guesses here because I have never heard of the behavior you're describing. If you want some info on my setup, I play with the Xbox 360 wireless receiver on Windows 7. I think it's just plug and play. I also have an nvidia card and am forcefully disabling VSync via the control panel. I get zero input lag and again, the fact that you get more input lag at high frames is bizarre. I'll drag out my X-Plorer tomorrow to see if the behavior is reproducible with a wired control and I'll see what I can find.
