I like how Dave presented so many different variations/ideas! And that you welcome it and are happy to hear new ways to do the songs you have written. This is how it should be, in my opinion. It's not about ego: it's a team effort where everyone's voice is heard.

Absolutely. No-one's ego is more important than the song. The rule we had was, if it makes the song better, do it". Not much point working with other musicians otherwise. Dave brought so much to the table on this record, it was a pleasure!

Dave is a beast on the drums. I wish I could have a beast drumset like that. That'd be cool.

Still watching but this is so cool to see. I wish more bands would release these recording diaries. Gives a great insight and it's great watching you consistently impressed with the drumming. My most anticipated album of the year.

I have to admit, I was rather underwhelmed on hearing Prophecy, just waiting on the blastbeats and racing double bass. It seemed to be holding back. Bummed out that Samus isn't here, I was comparing it to Skyless on on one. And I doubt Skyless can ever be topped. But that mindset is not fair, this album is a totally different piece of art and I need to listen to it unbiased. And, admittedly, this video has re-invigorated my hopes and dreams, hearing snippets of more the drumming panache I was hoping for, and now I can't wait to hear it! It looks like Dave is an insane drummer in his own right. (Disclaimer: I am not familiar with Psycroptic music nor Dave Healy)

This may be a really odd question but many years ago I remember being obsessed with a song you and Christina Marie released as Memoria (Compromise it was called), and I always wondered whatever happened to that band. The song was so good and she's such a great singer but she vanished off the internet so I was just wondering.
@andygillion2 ай бұрын
Thanks for asking! That track still plays in my head now and then and it is a beautiful song. We worked together on a record for a number of years. Sadly by the time we'd finished I think Christina had moved on and the vision wasn't something she wanted to pursue anymore. I can't speak for her on that but it was really sad to see all the work on that album fade into obscurity. She's incredibly talented.

@@andygillion god that's so unfortunate. the song really was amazing, i remember she wrote a couple others that were floating around on KZbin and they were all A+. thanks for responding, really like what you're doing right now.
