Symphonic metal at it's best. Amanda Somerville, the blonde, was born in a small town in Michigan called Flushing. She moved to Germany to explore a pop career (she has 2 or 3 pop albums you can find). Got involved with Avantasia and then Michael Kiske (Helloween, Halloween was taken by a Detroit band coincidentally) and became a metal vocalist. She's Floor Jansen (Nightwish, After Forever, ReVamp) and Simone Simons' (Epica) vocal coach! She even filled in with Epica while Simone was pregnant even though she's an Alto (tessitura) she can sing Soprano (likely Mezzo)!

Amanda was actually never Simone Simons vocal coach. That's an internet myth that never really died. Amanda and Simone are friends, and as friends they have given each other tips on their vocal techniques. It's a clear difference between that and going to a professional vocal coach (Yes, Amanda is a vocal coach) and having vocal lessons.
