In 2017, another new project was announced. Called Exit Eden, it features Somerville and three other female singers from the rock/metal scene: Clémentine Delauney (Visions of Atlantis, Serenity, Melted Space, Kai Hansen & Friends), Marina La Torraca (who replaced Somerville in a few festival shows of the Avantasia 2016 world tour) and newcomer Anna Brunner. The band was conceived with the plan "to show the world that almost every classic song can be transformed into a solid Metal-Rock song", a concept similar to Finland's Northern Kings.

These girls are really good in general. Simone Simons, is brutal in everything she does. Adele is also great. BUT... Within Temptation's version is the best hands down. Is not because is more upbeat, is not because is more "Rocky", I would even say that the beginning is a bit cheesy, ... but Sharon den Adele, plays with the notes. Those quick ups and downs, and they way she sings them ... wow. I know, I know, everyone has their opinion, but there is also 'good' and ... 'GOOD'. A BMW is 'good'... a Jaguar is 'GOOD'

I'm absolutely with you in this. Just went over to WT's version and I definitely prefer it. There's a soft huskiness in Sharon's voice that I actually didn't notice until I heard Exit Eden's version with its clear opera soprano. But this huskiness is, well, ultra-sexy. And WT's version got way more drive. But then again... as a longtime WT fan I'm probably biased.
