Honestly, how I see it, Avatars aren’t more powerful than the other. They are all connected to Raava, and therefore to each other; so really they’re the same level in power. It’s just how they use their bending abilities. Just because Aang didn’t reshape the earth, doesn’t necessarily mean he can’t be able to do it. Does that make sense?

Honestly, my only concern with another female avatar is I don’t trust the writers not ruin her with unnecessary melodramatic romance plotlines like they did with Korra. They’ve also had so many prominent female earth benders in this franchise that I worry she’ll be too derivative of one or more of these preexisting characters and will fail to truly be a unique character in her own right. I’m especially worried they’re going to try and make her uniqueness tied to her disability, as that would just be writing Toph 2.0. Also, as a physically disabled person I have to say I’m utterly tired of the “disability as a superability” trope abled bodied writers keep doing, it’s NOT the “positive disability rep” they think it is. I’m equally tired of unexplainably high tech prosthetics that conveniently work identical to a human limb, especially when they also design them to look like human limbs, as the latter completely ignores that the most functional prosthetics for amputees look the least human-like. It completely fails to convey a disabled person’s lived experience if the prosthetic is high tech and restores function beyond what prosthetics are presently capable of. There’s a reason why prosthetics can’t be consciously innovated like a regular limb: they’re not connected to the person’s nervous system! It’s honestly baffling how so many writers manage to trick themselves into believing they’re writing a disabled character when they’ve intentionally used vague fantasy elements to completely erase the realities of the character’s disability. It’s such a cop out and reduces a character’s disability to a cheap visual aesthetic. So I’m REALLY hoping they somehow manage to avoid these blunders when writing the new Avatar’s disability.

Honestly I’m not really likening where this is going at all. Not because the next Avatar might be a girl, but because it almost seems like the creators are going woke like a lot of writers and directors have these days. I’m fine with the idea of another female Avatar, if that’s what the creators choose. What I WON’T like is the possibility that they might try to, or be forced to, put too much emphasis on issues that are considered woke. That’s what I won’t tolerate at all. What I also won’t tolerate is the possibility that there might never be a way to recover the connection to the past avatars, and that everything regarding their teachings and experiences being passed on to the next one, will be regarded as irrelevant.

Idk if you'll see this, but I think I saw official leaks of how the new avatar looks like. The prosthetic looks almost exactly like those ones used in running marathons. It doesn't look like a human leg at all - so at least they made it realistic. For Toph they made her blindness "super ability" through things even real animals have learned to do. I personally don't see how the prosthetic will turn out to be a positive powerful trait in this avatar's case. As for the rest - we'll wait and see.

I mean, if Kyoshi was able to separate an entire landmass off the continent to create Kyoshi Island in such a casual manner. I think Kyoshi could've accomplished a similar feat as Korra if she wanted to and put all her strength on it. Also, remember this is only the plot setting. Who knows, maybe this feat from Korra will be a bit of a mystery. Perhaps Korra didn't do this alone and had help from spirits or other benders. Or it could be revealed that Korra didn't do this at all, but it was planned to point to it to Korra's doing to prevent hysteria, chaos, or a bigger secret. Just because it is the plot setting, it doesn't mean it will be just straight out that or that it won't have any twists. For example, the establishment and plot setting for ATLA is that the previous Avatar, Roku, disappeared. Then, on the show itself, we are shown until the last season how Roku was involved. How and why did he fail to stop the war. We learn that he didn't just "vanish", he was stern, betrayed, powerless against stopping the Firelord, and left with guilt. This, "Korra is now the most powerful Avatar," is a thing the Fandom itself is claiming just from hearing this factor that establishes the setting. They're focusing again on "I dislike/hate Korra." Personally, I think this is very interesting and look forward to watching the details and twists that may come of it.

You’re forgetting one very important thing though. Korra didn’t CHOOSE to sever her connections to the past Avatars. It happened because it was DONE to her. Remember, during her second to last fight with Unalaq, she was getting weakened severely, because Unalaq was attacking Raava directly, with the help of Vaatu. Every time she got attacked, she slowly started to lose the connection. And once Raava was pulled out of her and destroyed, then and there that’s when the connection was lost. So the person that people need to blame for that is Unalaq, not Korra.

That’s what I was going to say but Aang also energy bended that’s how he took away fire lord ozai bending but with Korra when she lost her bending it was to a blood bender so it blocked her connection with elements like her chakras but if there was another blood bender will they could of restored her bending but energy bending was something the sprit lion turtles used them selfs to unlock and give people the chakras to be able to bend as we learn in avatar wan(1st avatar) backstory so with energy bending she could just increase her bending power allowing her to do what he stated because when she broke the avatar cycle the effectively became the new 1st avatar so she would need to use the power of Raava directly or energy bending to boost her power to shift the continents and the next avatar will also have to restore the cycle and regain access to her past lives

Idk man, the og was so good because of the intricate attention to detail and how the writing team used elements of the story to explore more complex topics in a way that kids could understand. Not only that, but the clothing, the culture, and the rich sense of this truly being a WORLD was just what sparkled. So much research!!! I don't feel like new teams have that same passion and just wanna churn out more things to look at. That's part of the reason why Korra was ALWAYS second best to the first series despite some cool concepts and character developments. The explorations always came off a but shallow when you look back at the pacing from Avatar. Do I love seeing a female character dealing with the fall out of PTSD? Yes; i think that's a great story to tell especially given Korra had a hard time with the spiritual aspect of the avatar. Do i think the division between benders/non-benders was a good story to tell? YEs!! Im actually surprised the OG never touched on that! But it's the new characters we got, and even reoccurring gag characters that never went further than the joke. It's the pointless love triangle that caused easily fixable problems. It's the dynamic between our A-team and how no one REALLY changes except for the relationship they're in. Idk, you could make the argument that the GAnng were much younger and kinda ended up growing up together, but it made it hard to feel like everyone in Korra was friends who loved and cared for each other when two of them were breaking up at a time and Korra RAN AWAY FROM THEM to be alone when her trauma began haunting her to the point of trying to discard her title. If im honest, New teams just can't reach that gold standard ans the companies sponsoring them aren't willing to either. Its probably going to be pretty bad, and I wish they just contined with the comic series that picked up right after the Events of the series they have running, because Azula is a FASCINATING mad man.

That's not what people don't like it, I think it's less to do with her becoming the strongest of all time or whatever, More about the twin aspect, the gender of the avatar, n her being an amputee. Personally I would have liked it if we had a male Earth because they're supposed to be doing a story for kiyoshi, 2 simultaneous earthbending Avatar stories I'm not sure how I feel about that, these guys aren't the best when it comes to story writing at times so I hope we get to very unique stories. The twin thing they already touched based on that before Apparently And it wasn't like this so I have no idea. @@AZDfox problem is that we just had a female avatar series which was that of korra. Also the previous cycle already had an earth bending female avatar. The past years we got kyoshi novels and yangchen novels and their story are practically complete and enough for them to have their own series. However we didn't get a single avatar content about a male avatar after ATLA.

@@happilyevernever4289 I am talking about avatar series and content. Just a mention of a past avatar cannot be compared to an entire series. Kuruk, Szeto, Wan and Roku had only mentions or at most 2 episodes. As for kyoshi, Yangchen and Korra, we have an entire series worth of content about them. As for the plot, it's too early to say anything but yeah, the idea of a fake avatar and an actual avatar is constantly being recycled. We already have kyoshi's storyline about that.

Avatar fans are a disappointment. I for one am excited for this new change. I cannot wait to experience the tale of the new Avatar. I’m grateful to see the repetition occur though. I used to get extremely upset whenever “fans” would bash the legend of Korra series. Now I can see that nothing will make them happy. Because they are clearly doing the same to Avatar Pavi.

Just a theory here. But realistically speaking from already established. Lore, there can only be one avatar and twins do not share a soul As stated in a comic. But earth can be founded in many different form, white phosphorus when heated up creates bright orange flame, there are also minerals that reside in the air and in the water. So what if one of the sisters was of course the avatar, but the other sister was so good at Earth. Bending, she could manipulate the smallest forms of earth, allowing her to redirect all the minerals in the air to create something like a funnel controlling air, being able to heat up certain combustion stones that or known to explode, or create bursts a flame.

My thoughts on this are as follows I am VERY open minded to Avatar Pavi and I hope she is the definitive next Avatar protagonist. I have trust that Avatar studios will absolutely cook up something great. That being said I also find it really frustrating when I read this backwards backlash bc those “fans” FUNDAMENTALLY miss the ATLA universes themes of acceptance, equality, and even tolerance of others regardless of their character. I’m so upset by this it might inspire me to make my own video on this and I don’t upload at all 😭

I’m a say this now like I said in the other comment section about the twin avatar situation I feel like one of the twins will be the avatar of the good spirit, and the other twin will be the avatar for the evil Spirit and if they do this correctly, I think the avatar with the amputee will be the good one. Her twin sister will be the evil one, but if they do something similar to like a Naruto situation, the evil sister most likely be evil for the good reasons and her sister will be good for the bad reasons. I can feel a lot of manipulation in that one.

I just hope the main character(s) are enjoyable this time. I do not know what happened with LOK production, but I didn't find any of the main cast engaging like I did with ATLA. I also didn't find the conflicts engaging but I blame that on the production being unpredictable in that they thought they were getting one season and didn't have a long enough conflict to fill three or however many there were. Although I do think they should have kept that "equalists" thread going because I don't think everyone behind that movement would drop the ideology just because Amon was a water bender, so maybe they just lost a good showrunner at some point.
