I left the org in August 2019 and Riley’s videos he posted about his waking up helped me a lot when I found them. It can take years to process everything when waking up/leaving the org especially if you have a spouse like I do who’s a couple years behind you in the waking up process. I’ve found that is holding me back some. Thanks for the interview, I found it comforting to hear Riley talk about some of the things I’ve felt during the last 4 years.

I love ❤️ to see both of you ❤️ I am pomo since 1985. ... You're helping me. I just knew it was a cult. I left when I was 17 years old. Nobody believed me in those days, and I needed help for lots of abuses physically and CSA.

Stop being so delightfully self deprecating! I love watching exjw videos that don't just rehash the convention or broadcasting.

Very cool interview and I really appreciate you both. I'm 66 yr old and was born in and out for about 20yr. life is short as I have been forced to realize in the past year. Thanks for your time and efforts both of you.

I really enjoyed this Ben, and I love that the two of you discussed the eternal loop that seems to come about by staying locked in the constant JW updates and rebuttals. There’s a place for it, but I feel like you’re offering material that’s well suited to people further along their journey. Much appreciated my dude

I left at 58, one year ago and I feel my best years are ahead of me. It's never to late. I think it's easier if you were not born in. I was baptized at 24 so the indoctrination didn't start at birth.

I woke up 3 years ago. I’m 47 now. Talk about mental breakdown. Thanks for the encouragement that the best years are ahead. Unfortunately, my personal family is still indoctrinated.

@@jeffmontalvo3352 I understand. My husband is still indoctrinated. I'm meeting new people. I went back to work full-time, I'm going to go on my first cruise this year. I do get down sometimes because I lost all my friends except one (actually they were conditional associates). I didn't write a letter I faded. I hope at least some of your family wakes up but you can't force it. It's hard being patient when you know what an awful scam and cult they are (GB). Take care.

So good to hear from you again Riley, you really are an example of how ex-Witnesses should think. I had left the Witnesses in the late 90’s but my thought processes were still very governed by the way I was brought up. I turned to drink to blot out the guilt I felt. When I got sober in 2016, I had such clarity of thinking. Just out of mild interest I went into KZbin and typed in ‘Jehovah’s Witnesses’….. WELL‼️ The rest as they say is history! I devoured all the videos that I found and they really did help me to answer lingering doubts I had all those many years ago when I was still in it. I’ve become an ‘old fart’ but now I’m a free one!

Good interview. I admire both of you and the perspectives you bring. I found myself agreeing with Riley on so many of his comments. And with so much negative conversation here in the States about LGBTQ culture and morality it is wonderful to hear you guys and your experiences with Pride. I also left the Witnesses at a mature age (38) and felt so out of touch with reality. Add to that I was coming out of a marriage and as gay. I wish there had been content like what you all provide at that time in my life 32 years ago. Thanks to you both.

Benjamin! That was such a fabulous video. I internally sighed when I realised it was 45mins long (short attention span, it's not you I promise 😅) and just thought I'd give the start a little listen, but then before I knew it I'd reached the end of the video and was sad it had finished. Such a fantastic video and really great input from you both. I feel so uplifted after listening, and really enjoyed the natural and down to earth style. I'm excited for you to keep on gaining confidence with this process and realise how great you are. You always make me smile, don't ever change 🤍

I've never been a jw, but you and Riley taught me even more. I have to thank you both. I'm so glad Riley you have found people who are really caring. I've noticed the jw's are taught that we are all evil, well, some are, and some not. I love the jw's, but I completely disagree with the religion. It's just flat out dangerous. God bless you both! This was amazing! 🌿✝️🌿🪻

Hi Riley 👋 enjoyed watching the video especially as ive been interviewed by you in the past some time after i first fled the cult good to hear you being interviewed especially about the POMI after you were df this is so barbaric to process and should be made illegal. Ive also voted in the first time ever since fading over 5 yrs ago it felt so empowering. Well done for being so honest in every aspect of us now being in society after you were denied like us for decades. So thankful for your input in our community this is an area i like to protect especially all the ways the cult denies in particular #csa #cse our mental health issues are very important for us all Its good to see Ben interviewing you as well both chatting together so natural. I like you dont do much in the exjws community as did in the beginning as now cult free we are all enjoying our lives. Again a huge thank you for supporting us all. 😊😊Do hope that you are having a great time with your new wife its so amazing that you are now with an awesome wife 😀 😊 The exjws are a beautiful extended family. Life is to enjoy as are doing what we want to do without the guilt etc 😅

@Ben Foard @Jexit 2020. Ben, Riley, excellent discussion you two. I’m struck by how quickly you have taken control of your lives and mental well being as compared to the generations before you. And I’m hoping that you two will produce more videos together in the future.

The chillest lads in the game 🙏 Great conversation! I love the advice to take your time. That causes me a lot of stress still! I still have that mentality a lot and get very anxious if I’m not as productive or “zealous” with all the “goals” I want to achieve, and knowing/understanding everything I want to.

"I hate dichotomous thinking. Nothing is 100% wrong and nothing is 100% right" - OH that's so right (well, maybe not 100% LOL). Seriously, this discussion is like fresh air to me. Why did I not know ANYBODY else like me, you guys, when I left that religion decades ago? Obviously, because there was no internet. 10 - 15 years ago I did try on-line exJW stuff and actually met a few people but I didn't find people like you two who are not only intelligent but courageous and open and 'mentally-out' and not intolerant of other views. I still haven't finished watching but I'm actually excited by finding people who are still committed to reason and honesty and searching for truth!

OMG I'm only 3.48 minutes into this video and I'm remembering what he's talking about: the internal vacuum and disorientation I experienced when my 'faith' started to collapse... 'what else is there? ... what now?' (That was in 50 years ago, in 1973, and I still remember it clearly). Oh and I'm someone who ended up working in mental health, eventually specifically working with gay people.
