I feel Westward Ho should be your next stop...Appledore and Instow bay. Just been absolutely fabulous! Bus might take a while so I suggest take your car.

Oh brilliant, that’s great to hear you had such a good experience. It’s funny you should suggest it actually as it was on my list for today’s excursion but I ended up choosing a different destination today for various reasons. That area is definitely on my radar though so stay tuned 🤗

Thank you Cheryl! Sorry I am so late responding to your comments. For some reason youtube held them for review. Not too sure why as they are lovely comments!

What an excellent day out, I'm sure you were delighted & exhausted when it was done. Your steam punk video was so entertaining. So glad you had a chance to stop for a delicious cream tea. Thank you so much for all that footage from the bus, you can't beat those views.

Thanks Faith! Yes, those two words describe it well especially as I had an hour’s drive home afterwards and then stayed up until 2:30am getting the Steam Punk video edited and then re edited as the first one was broken in 3 places when I played it back. I had to repair those breaks! I really enjoy doing it though and enjoy every element that making these videos involves including the cream teas 🤗

Fantastic Louise! You have managed to pull off another cosy, feel good, and relaxed video featuring the very best of the South West. I love the look of that new tea room - I went to one in North Cornwall when I was on holiday recently with family, and it was fab. That bus ride was epic - I adore Exmoor, and, like you, I hope to feature more of it on my channel. I wouldn't have liked to have driven that bus up Porlock Hill either! The driver certainly earned their pay for doing that. Some great Porlock Hill facts too, which I were not previously aware of. Great work! Take care, Paul.

Thank you Paul! Cosy, feel good and relaxed videos are my favourite type of video to film and edit! The tea room is fantastic and so well placed by a car park and numerous walking routes and it was so cosy there with fabulous views. I feel so blessed to live so close to destinations like these that I can just nip over to on my day off that are holidays for others.

Louise, it is interesting to see that one of your scones in your cream tea has 'jam first' and the other 'cream first'. Is this because the County Gate Tearooms straddles the border between Somerset (jam first, the correct way) and Devon (cream first, the incorrect way) and you sat on a table right on the border and were being 'diplomatic'?
@SouthWestSundays
@SouthWestSundays Жыл бұрын
Haha, well spotted!!! I can never remember which way around is correct so I always do that with my scones these days! I definitely prefer jam first though 🤗 It crossed my mind though about the counties and straddling the counties and their scone topping variations. Thanks so much for watching and commenting!

Fabulous video Louise. What a great bus trip with stunning views. That steep hill though eek! You were brave! Lyndhurst and Lynmouth brings back memories of when we visited. The fish and chips shop there is so good! Beware of the massive seagulls lol. Yummy cream tea too! 😊

Thanks so much Amanda!! Yes, the hill was a bit of a nail biter, but the drivers are highly trained to negotiate it with precision so I had my confidence in the driver. I always feel a bit nervous crawling up it and around the hairpin bend in my tiny little car too 🤣 🚗 The cream tea at the Ramblers Rest was so delicious 🤗 Thanks for watching and commenting!

@@SouthWestSundays yes I can imagine the bus drivers need to be strictly trained to tackle such roads. I bet you felt better being a passenger rather than driving it yourself! You earned that cream tea to break the journey. The tea rooms look in the middle of nowhere lol. It's such a nice area, I'd love to visit again! 😊

Great video Louise. Had lots of holidays in that area when I was small, the cars in the 60's really struggled with Porlock hill ! Happy memories for me, thank you.😊

Thanks Caroline!! Oh that’s lovely that it brought back happy memories. Oh gosh I can imagine that it would have been a real challenge for 1960s cars to climb it. I struggle in my little 1 litre modern automatic 🤗

Fantastic videos, views, commentary and music. Well done🧡. Do the drivers and passengers get danger money for Porlock Hill!! Did you tie yourself to the seat? ? 😲. What a day.... and you did that other video.... and you stopped for a cream tea. What was plan B if the bus had not come? 😊😊
@SouthWestSundays
@SouthWestSundays Жыл бұрын
Thank you Cathy! Lovely comment! 🤣 Danger money and tieing self to seat! Love it! Plan B I think would have been a lovely walk back to Minehead but it would have been a long one and I might have had to book accommodation somewhere over night. Either that or a taxi, but thankfully the Coaster Service is very reliable. I made sure not to catch the last bus . I always feel a bit uneasy about waiting for a last bus!🤣

I almost went on this when I was last in Minehead a few weeks ago but then spotted a stop on there when it's running its extended timetable in the summer, the Coombe Martin Dinosaur & Wildlife Park (I'm dying to go back there) so holding fire for now but so looking forward to it, the views look spectacular! Loved this video taking a peak at what it's like, I'd heard the service labelled as a bit like a coaster thanks to Porlock HIll but hadn't realised it had a hairpin bend in the route too! Great video!

Thanks so much Jesse! Yes, it’s going to be fab when it goes all the way out there! I really want to do that but if the journey too! The Dinosaur and Wildlife park sounds great! Combe Martin is lovely too. I was really in awe of the skill of the driver tackling that hair pin bend on Porlock Hill. I think you will love this route when you get to do it!

I was on the Exmoor Coster two weeks ago from Minehead to Lynmouth. It was scary going up Porlock Hill. I'm amazed those buses can get up there. Interesting though. I managed to get wacked by a overhanging tree just for good measure 😂😂😂

Omg! That sounds uncomfortable! Hope you did not incur an injury! It is amazing how they get up Porlock Hill. I really don’t envy the drivers!
