EXMOUTH TRIP 2021-INSANE MACKIE FISHING ACTION | First Big Trip in the NEW BOAT! | Stickbaits

The Excessive Crew made it up to Northern Western Australia and head out to the remote islands for a first proper fish in the new custom 6.8m centre console. Spanish Mackerel were busting up everywhere on the surface and would take a hit at any lure thrown at them, all the lads managed to get onto some tight lines and enjoy a great first day out!

Do you guys always use egg beater reels up there...even when bottom bouncing? If so...why not use overhead reels?

We use them for throwing lures, trolling divers, and jigging. We use electrics when bottom bouncing to get away from the sharks🍻🎣

how did this boat go compared to the last boat? which one do you prefer to use and why?

The last boat was much bigger therefore we were able to go out when you usually wouldn’t, but was bigger and harder to move around. The smaller boat is a weapon tho, if I lived up north I would have the 6.8, but the big boat is better for the south seas👍 both exceptional hulls tho💪🎣

What setups are you using when casting for mackies? (You trolling with the same outfits?) Heading up in July and trying to get myself sorted 😂

Hi mate, we troll with heavy gear, I use the shimano T curve deep jigging rod with a Stella 20000 reel, 80lb braid with 2m of 80lb wind on leader. Basically any heavy fibreglass rod with a decent real that has plenty of drag, a big Mackie will pull line like no tomorrow💪 For casting stick baits I use a Wilson Venom pe3-5 stickbait rod with a daiwa Catalina 5000 rigged with 50lb braid and Jacko uses the Oceans legacy focal pe 4-6 with the certate 14000 rigged with 50lb braid👌 Hope this helps🎣🎣
