Thanks Laken. I find each Exo member's solo music portrays their personalities to a tee. Each vastly different from each other, but giving their own expressions of their personas in their styles of music. From Chen's beautiful emotional music to cry to...to Kai's expressive dancing...they all do it so well. This man, D.O., is my ultimate bias for this reason, the way he portrays himself in "Somebody". I have always seen him this way. For 10 years. And this cute love story makes me so giddy, I turn into a teenager again. He is precious. I can't with his beautiful face...😭😭 You need to do his first album Laken. The album with "Rose" on it. It also has a highlight medley you should watch first. Another cute story unfolds. But the songs on the album are beautiful. Again, precious. Now I can't wait for his new album coming out next week...this romantic man is going to kill me, I can feel it. 💙🌺

I've watched it many times, but I still feel joy, kindness, and butterflies in my stomach every time. Strangely, all of Kyungsoo's songs give his own impression and you can clearly see that everything screams Kyungsoo.He already has two albums, Empathy, which is literally an unparalleled masterpiece. His song Rose has an English version. There is also a song in Spanish on it. I suggest you start with it. It will be an unforgettable experience. I don't know if you know but "I do" is the continuation story of "That's Okay" by KyungSoo. What I love about "Somebody" is that he made her feel like somebody ❤ in a time when she felt like a nobody. Expectation is literally my most favorite album not only for a solo artist but in Exo's whole discography, its up there with Don't Fight the Feeling album as my top most favorite albums in their discography. Out of all solos in Exo members D.O. and Suho's songs resonates the most with me followed by Chen. D.O. resonates the most because of how simple and slice of life his content is (showcasing both sad and happy moments of life), Suho's showcase solitude whilst Chen's showcase healing through the depths.

Then, I do is actually an MV sequel of That's Okay. The song he released before enlisting. He said that he wants people to feel good listening to his songs. ❤🐧

As you just heard, D.O.'s Empathy album is actually more of an acoustic album with a lot more ballady softer mellow songs. D.O. is known for his R&B vocals, so most assumed we could get an R&B based album for his solo debut. However, he surprised us all by not going R&B right out of the gate. So, we are looking forward to him digging into more of his R&B side with his future solo work. Fun fact: If you remember, D.O.'s superpower is force, which harnesses the power of earth (dirt) to create super strength. So, in his "Rose" MV we see things exploding or falling down, etc. because he is using his power of force. His blissful love state may be causing him to lose control of his powers. And the "Rose" flower theme could be connected to the flowers within EXO's storyline and/or represent the heart of the Tree of Life. As mentioned before, other examples of the EXO members using their powers in their solo debut MVs: Baekhyun's debut solo album City Lights and his song "UN Village" talks about his power to control light, Suho's debut solo "Let's Love" MV shows him with his power to control water, and Kai teleports all over in his "Mmmh" MV, and in Xiumin's "Brand New" MV we see him creating snow with his power to control frost. And as the first EXO member to have a solo career, the majority of Lay's solo MVs tie into EXO's storyline as well. Some people have also pointed out that in D.O.'s MV, there might be nods to the other EXO members as well. Some say, you see the lightning storm, which is Chen's power of thunder/lightning/electricity, the water being sprayed from the broken hydrant could be Suho's power of water, the trash being blown from the garbage truck could be Sehun's power of wind, the exploding lights could be Baekhyun's power of light, the fireworks could be representing Chanyeol's fire power and the blooming flower could be Lay's power of healing because his power is often represented by the growth of plants, etc. (And some even think Kai could be represented by the fact that at one point we see a teddy bear blow past. It's a well-known fact that Kai's fans have told him he looks like a bear and he has kind of embraced that as something that represents him with all his bear-like clothing and his collaboration with Gucci that had teddy bear images used in a line of clothing he endorsed, etc.) . As you have discovered, even in their solo work, everything EXO does is connected to their concept and storyline as members of EXO.
