There were originally 12 members split into EXO k (Korean versions of songs and EXO m (Chinese versions of songs) with six members in each unit. Three of the four Chinese members left pretty early on (only two of the Chinese members were in call me baby) and Lay is kind of in the group but hasn’t joined any recent comebacks because he isn’t in SM anymore and is promoting in China. EXO K and M combined on most songs but also recorded the same songs in Chinese and Korean, now they are just called EXO.

The thing with EXO, you always have to count them in their mvs 😅. Call Me Baby has 10, Monster 9, Obsession 6 and Cream Soda has 7 on the mv but 8 on the songs coz Kai was not in the mv. There are no back up dancers on those mvs. Most of them are actors (film and theatre), models, brand ambassadors and OST artists. 7 of them have successful solo album/s. Lay, the only Chinese member have two movies with Jackie Chan. They’ve been 12 years in their career but in hiatus almost half of it. I became an Exo-L in late 2020, and my 1st comeback album is DFTF which were never promoted, and then Exist album last year, promoted for 4 days then their gone again 😅. Though they have solo activities, i want to see EXO perform with complete members. Btw, EXO started the 3rd gen.

They have 3 main vocalist which is D.O ( Doh Kyungsoo) known for being RnB king, BAEKHYUN as the belter and Chen as the POWER because he can reach the HIGHEST female notes. Their groups is a total package. The members can sing even the 2 main rappers. They can also dance like all of them are the main dancers. They can also rap just like their main rappers. He is a producer, songwriter and a singer. He has produced songs/albums for SM artists EXO, Shinee, NCT as a whole and three sub-units (NCT U, NCT 127, NCT Dream). He also produced RUN BTS for BTS. He is a well known, and respected music producer in the US music industry. He has produced for Dr. Dre, Kanye West, Rihanna, Janet Jackson, Anderson Paak, Kendrick Lamar and more.I recommend looking up his discography. EXO is a living legend in Kpop industry, their popularity and contribution to kpop is still unmatch. Originally 12 members when they debuted in 2012 divided into 2 groups, EXO-K ( Korean members Suho, Baekhyun, Chanyeol, D.O. , Kai ) and EXO-M ( Xiumin, Chen, and Chinese members Lay, Kris, Luhan and Tao ) . Chinese members departed from the group along their journey and only Lay was left but inactive as of the moment. When they did Call Me Baby two Chinese members were leaving the group (Kris and Luhan). EXO started at 12 members, with 8 Korean and 4 Chinese. They went to 10 and then lost another Chinese member (Tao) leaving Lay as the only Chinese member of the group. When military service started they had to flex around who was there and in the service. So you might see a video with only 6.
