Kpop roles used to be designated as “main,” “lead,” and “sub.” That’s best to least best. I can’t say to worst because all of them are great, lol. Because EXO has so many great vocalists, there are 3 main singers, each with different strengths: D.O., Chen, and Baekhyun. Many groups, like BTS or Stray Lids only have 1 or maybe 2 if they’re lucky.

I firmly believe that Chen has one of the best voices in the world. The best in Kpop hands down. But IMO, the strength and beauty of his instrument is really is one of the best in the world. Angelic, yes, because it truly is a gift from above. As for Baekhyun - his voice is undeniably unique, unforgettable, and unmistakably Baekhyun.

Your vocal crush here, his name is Chen considered is one of the best vocalists of Korea...He is also the sweetest and earnest person...Baekhyun (grey hair) founded his own company to bring Chen and Xiumin (the one between Chen and Baekhyun) to work on their solo activities, they are actually in a legal fight with SM Entertainment...and it was the best thing that could happen to them...Chen was hiddened by SM because some delulus fans weren't happy with his mariage and 2 children now...but now he got to have a lot of wonderful moments with his fans..he interacts a lot through Bubble...he created with his own hands a wooden bench for his fans to take photos at his fan concert...he really wants to give without expecting anything in return...same goes for Baekhyun...he did sooooo much this year for his fans! Asian Tour completely sold out, he even made fan meetings through Korea preparing snack boxes for everyone attending, preparing safe zones outside his venues, only female staff etc...he often come on twitter to ask for advices for events or even for ideas on how to reduce scalpers possiblilites for his concerts so that Exo-Ls (Eris is the nicknamed he gave us too) don't get scammed..he is the only solo artist this year to achieve 1M album sold with his last release (4th mini album )Hello World (title track : pineapple slice).Baekhyun is known for being the 1st soloist to have sold more than 1M albums after many years with his 2d album Candy...he also sold more than 1M albums with his 3rd mini album Bambi (materpiece you should react to...really haha) without it being marketed since he had to leave for military...it was a gift for the fans... Those 3 who sings Miracles in December are the Main Vocalist people call them the "Holy Trinity," EXO was called vocal kings cause all of them can sing. The rapper can sing and the dancer too. The main dancer isn't in it because he is in military, his name is Kai, he will soon be discharged. The 3 main vocalist are: Baekhyun (in gray hair), Chen (high note, white shirt) and DO(in black shirt) his also an actor, actually they're an actors, models and soloist. EXO can sing, rap, dance, act and models, and etc.

Glad you enjoyed this. These songs are only the tip of the iceberg of all the gems these boys have given us through the years. Chen (the guy in white) is one of the group's main vocalists and one of the best vocalist in the industry and so is Baekhyun (the guy in the black blazer) who holds the records in album sales in SK (he has set the record and broken his own records two times). This medley does not do justice to the amazing vocals of D.O, the third main vocalist in the group (the guy next to the tall rapper) because many of the parts chosen do not showcase his amazing vocals, but he is also widely known as a fantastic vocalist. All three of them make the holy vocal trinity in SK. They are really one of a kind.

This Killing Voice performance is supposed to showcase EXO's outstanding vocals, so what you are hearing is a compilation of some of the best parts of their songs that highlight their vocal abilities. They debuted in 2012, so they have a lot of songs. You are only hearing a small fraction of them and only a few lines of each of the songs (And in some cases, they are singing lines from the middle of the song, so it may sound different when you listen to the actual song. And in this performance they are missing two members, so some of their parts in these songs were different than the original versions because they had to cover for the members who were unable to participate in this program.) This is a LIVE performance with 100% live vocals. Plus, SM Entertainment is known for having some of the best singers in Kpop. You can't be an SM artist without being an amazing singer. So even the company's rappers receive intense vocal training. (Just look at EXO's Chanyeol on the far left and Sehun on the far right, who are both main rappers, and, yet, they each have amazing singing voices. How often do you see rappers that can sing as well as them?) All of SM's rappers could even fill in as main vocalists in their groups. That is why the company has gained the reputation as the vocal powerhouse of the industry. And what you are hearing is why EXO are nicknamed "the vocal kings of Kpop". Another thing SM's artists and groups are known for is for being top tier when it comes to live vocals and perfect harmonies. SM artists are recognized for the fact that they all can sing live while performing intense choreography for hours in concert and still sound flawless the whole time. The company is known for having artists and groups who sound even better live than they do on their studio recordings, so that's why you really need to watch EXO's concert performances, because the songs are on a whole other level when they are live. A dark shadow has woken up inside of me Sparks fly in my eyes as I look at you Everyone step away from her (step away) It’s going to get fierce from now on I’m growling, growling, growling I’m growling, growling, growling I’m growling, growling, growling If you don’t back away then I don’t care if you get hurt ..." etc. "Growl" is literally the song that skyrocketed EXO into superstardom and it's now considered one of Korea's national anthems, if you have been a part of Kpop for any amount of time you most likely know this song It's part of Kpop culture and it's used everywhere. It was even one of the theme songs for the 2018 Winter Olympics. I mean it's one of the most covered songs by trainee groups and you can see and hear it being performed by people all over the place. "Growl" is the song that EXO are most known for. "Sing For You" came out in 2015 and, as the title says, EXO is singing to EXO-Ls (EXO's fans). This song has an MV and it's all part of EXO's storyline. This song was released after 3 of their Chinese members left the group, so it's also a promise and apology song to EXO-Ls. As you just saw, "Miracles in December" is a song that is only sung by EXO's three main vocalists, Chen, Baekhyun and D.O. However, you will see all the EXO members in the MV because it tells another part of EXO's story. There is no MV for "The Eve" because it's a B-side track. However, it's the B-side song that they promoted with, along with their lead track "Ko Ko Bop," so they have a dance practice video for the song you will have to check out. "The Eve" is one of their most iconic songs and performances. "Mama" is EXO's debut song. When you watch that MV and get to know EXO better, you will understand why D.O. was making jokes and they were all laughing when he introduced "Mama." EXO's debut and group concept is unlike anything you have ever seen before and "Mama" is one of the most epic debut songs and MVs ever created. This is the song and MV that explains EXO's entire storyline and concept. If you are ever going to understand anything about EXO you have to watch BOTH their EXO-K (Korean) and EXO-M (Mandarin Chinese) versions of their "Mama" MVs. "Overdose" is about overdosing on love like a drug and been trapped within a maze, so the sound of the song is supposed to be disorienting because you are supposed to feel like they are being brainwashed and unable to find their way out, etc. (Fun fact: This is the last MV that has all 12 members in it.) LOL, you've seen their "Monster" MV. So, why were you so shocked? ;) You just discovered why EXO are so highly respected for their vocal talent. What you heard in the MV wasn't even close to what they can do live. :D As the English lines in "Monster" say ... They're "Creeping, Creeping, Creeping .... Creeping in your heart babe" "You can call me Monster (because) I'm creeping in your heart babe." "She got me goin' crazy." The song's called "Monster," so the words are about acting like a monster: "Don't be afraid, love is the way ... I'm sorry, you make me sooo craaaazzzy, you know you dooooo." The song is about how they know they are bad for the person that they are in a relationship with, and they will most likely ruin them if that person stays with them. In the song, they are talking about how, I know that when we are over that I will have destroyed everything that is good about you, but I don't care because I want you so much that it doesn't matter to me. Therefore, it's good that "you can call me monster" because they are being straight forward and warning you from the very beginning, so you can't say you were blindsided by their actions. "The First Snow" is a B-side song on one of their winter albums (They have more than one winter/holiday album). The song is about the magic of the first snowfall of the season and how it's the perfect atmosphere to fall in love. This song is so popular that you can hear it being played all over the place in Korea on the first day it snows, and it's pretty much considered a winter anthem that gets played nonstop all season long, especially around the holidays. The "Don't Go" lyrics compare their love (i.e. EXO-Ls) to a butterfly and the hand movement they were making is supposed to be a butterfly, which is part of the choreography for the song. You should check out one of their live concert performances of the song to see what I mean. EXO's "Power" was also used as one of the theme songs, along with their song "Growl," during the 2018 winter Olympics. EXO even performed both songs during the closing ceremony. As "the nation's boy group," EXO was the only Kpop group to be selected to perform at the Olympics. If you like the sound of "Power" in this video, just wait until you see their live concert performance of the remixed version of the song. You should check out their "Diamond" + "Coming Over" + "Run This" + "Drop That" + "Power" set at their EXOPLANET #4 The ElyXiOn in Seoul in 2017. ("Power" also has an MV.) "Cream Soda" is their most recent song at the time, and the whole reason why they were on Dingo's Killing Voice was to promote this song and album, which is why they performed the whole song.

They are all great dancers, but you’re referring to Kai, who, unfortunately, had to begin his military service days before this recording. So he isn’t in this video. But in other videos you watch, you’ll see Kai. He often has a crop top, and is classically ballet trained, which makes his dancing perfection. He knows how to use his body and it’s impactful throughout all of Kpop. You called out Suho, the leader of the group, also a great dancer, and multi-cd soloist, drama and theater actor. Yes, they do it all - and do it well!

Their last comeback in 2023, 7th album, Cream Soda in last song is title track of EXIST album. And has the MV. In 2023, they have 3 MVs, CreamSoda, Let Me In and Hear Me Out. What you have to remember when watching the music videos is that not all members will always be in them. EXO started out with 12 members and debuted in 2012. By the end of 2015 3 of the Chinese members left the group leaving Lay as the only Chinese member left. Political relations between China and South Korea had deteriorated so much that Lay was unable to perform with the group as of late 2016. He would make appearances in the Tempo and Don't fight the feeling MVs as things get better. South Korea has mandatory military service for males aged 18-28. So members will be missing as they fulfill their enlistment duties. At this time Kai and Sehun the 2 youngest are enlisted and are expected to return in late 2024 and late 2025.

Kai (the guy in crop top and the one you said in tempo) is the main dancer. He's known as the idol of idols 😌 It's sad he isn't in the video because he is in the military😢

As you watch the videos, you’ll see the member count will change from 12 when they started to 8 or 9 (with Lay), or fewer when people have been doing their military service. The military service has also impacted their music releases and touring since ‘18 (unless I’m mistaken about the year?). Most people will also cite their agency as their biggest contributor for a lack of music and promotion. It is astounding, given how good each member of EXO is. But bringing you up to speed, DO (2nd from the left and main vocalist) left the agency at the end of the year and has his own company now. And presumably as a result of an internal dispute, Baekhyun was able to form his own company at the beginning of the year to support his efforts as a soloist, and as CBX, which includes Chen, Baekhyun and Xiumin. Both Chen and Xiumin also joined Baekhyun’s company for their solo efforts. However, all 4 members are still EXO and will continue to record, perform and tour as a group under their agency. However - even with their 2023 release of EXIST (which includes Cream Soda), they received very little promotion and had to rely on the existing fan base as the continued promoters of their music. We have been told that there was to be new music this year from EXO, but it’s not looking very promising. But with Kai and Sehun currently doing their military service, and the other members releasing solo albums, I am looking forward to 2025 when they’re all together once again. Monster is a masterpiece. But you could probably say that about a dozen other songs from EXO, including MAMA, obsession and Tempo. 😂😂😂😂😂

@varshajohn the winter album was actually planned and scheduled by sm ent and cbx, along with suho, who was confirming it during the mid half of this 2024, to be released this year. However, when the dispute between sm ent and cbx reoccured back in august i believe? cause of the financial arrangements and all, a few months after that, sm ent just tried to erase exo's name and history from their company... pretty much like they didn't at all existed as the group who broke records, even if baekhyun, during the dispute era, tried to assure fans that the group will still continue with their plans w/ sm. I have been busy too with my college degree so i wasnt fully knowledgeable too about the things that went on, but i believe the dispute just died down but w/o actual closure and def w/ bad blood... cause no further information was released anymore after sm filing a lawsuit towards cbx's company and vice-versa. So in a way, the only conclusion I've built is i think that the group is sadly at risk w/ sm ent and there's no other guarantee they might ever have activities as a group w/ that company anymore :(( (unless someone else corrects me, thanks in advance!)

So a little after 2018 Exo went on a bit of a hiatus. For one they had to do military service but also their company is trash and still is. They did come back during covid and made a fan special album and music video to support us through the pandemic and even had a special cameo from Lay, a member that has been stuck over in China since 2017. Nowadays, 3 of the members have their own companies (D.O, Lay, and Baekhyun) and have made solo albums while we wait for the last members to be done with military service. Fun fact Exo-CBX (a subunit of Exo) sued SM entertainment due to the mistreatment and contract problems. I believe they even won (I could be wrong I haven’t kept up with it recently).

Rappers in EXO can sing. Thats a fact. Chanyeol has a lot of solo songs and collabs. His famous song collab is Stay With Me (with Punch). This is an OST and the most streamed OST in Korea on YT. He has some latest songs like Good Enough and Black Out. Chanyeol and Sehun have subunit in Exo called EXO SC. Another subunit is EXO CBX (Chen, Baekhyun, Xiumin)

The idea behind Killing Voice is that it features all the "killing parts" of songs from one group or solo artist. The show started as Killing Verse, which is all the killing rap parts of songs by Kr&b and Khiphop artists (you haven't seen any of those yet). Killing Verse is still a show, and it is awesome. But a member of Mamamoo, Solar, suggested they do the same concept for vocal groups, and Killing Voice was born. Mamamoo was the first group on Killing Voice. If you are learning new groups, searching out their Killing Voice episode is a good introduction.

They are still active, but while there are members serving their mandatory military services, they've been doing a lot of sub unit or solo album content until they have more members to do full EXO albums. Tempo was the last time all the members were together. The next album Obsession was only with 6 members while two were serving. Then Don't Fight the Feeling was next with 6 members again, that time Lay was actually allowed to participate, as it was an album specially made for fans for an anniversary while members were serving. There were nine, yes. Originally twelve. The four Chinese members are no longer with them either. Some Korean members have gone to the military and returned. Others are still there in the Korean military and/or will still go. One of the Chinese members is left actually as a member of EXO but has left SM Entertainment. He's called Lay and hasn't been able to promote with EXO since 2021 if I remember correctly.
