Cantonese is the local language in Guangzhou. Mandarin is what they learn in school, but most people speak Cantonese over Mandarin when they speak to each other on the streets. Even when you visit Guangzhou and speak Mandarin to the locals, most locals will respond with a strong Cantonese accent.

In 2017 EXO (8 members) had an interview with Ellie Lee on iHeartRadio and it was a little awkward to watch 😂 Ellie is Korean decent but I’m not sure how much Korean she is able to speak, not to mention this was an American interview so I guess English had to be spoken. Even EXO had to try to speak English which made it even more tricky since none of them can speak fluently. The whole time I was like, where’s Lay and Kris when you need them! 😂
