I definitely agree that the group works better as 9. Like I LOOOOVED EXO as 12, but there's something about how after a group loses a member (or 3) the line/screen time distribution just gets SO much better. We get to see more of the members who seemed to be thrown aside before.

I was getting that feeling too. previously, even though chen is the main vocalist, most of the lines would be for luhan and xiumin and lay would barely have any lines. even though I'm sad that lay didn't have that much lines in the chinese version with him being the only one that knows it fluently but knowing that exo was able to adjust to this line after having so many changes in such little time makes me really proud of them.

Yes! Thank you! I'm not the only one who thinks them as 9 is better than how they were at 12. I think it mainly has to do with song choice/style nowadays. These songs suit the remaining members better than their previous stuff (even though I love the OT12/11/10 albums a lot). Overall, they've become a well-rounded group after everything.

I actually like the Chinese version more than the Korean version. My only complaint is that they should've used Lay more in the Chinese version and also that dance. I nearly died when Lay and Kai were dancing side by side and I was like "Oh My ....ovaries~" lol. Also Xiumin was getting it when he was in the front x3 Cortney's reaction is the same as mine lol

YES Cortney I had the exact same sentiment after watching both videos. Like all of a sudden this feeling hit me, "I like them as 9. 9 is good". I still miss the other members (especially Tao), but this comeback made me finally feel super comfortable with the way things have turned out, and maybe this is just the way they were meant to be the whole time.

You were talking about the choreography and how it should show more, so I wanted to point out that right before the mv's dropped they had a Showcase with the full choreo stages. Just look up EXO Showcase Monster. Also, they just did M Countdown too. And they have a stage for Lucky One choreo, and then one for Heaven.

i feel like they work so well with 9 members because they worked their butts off to change and get used to having 9 members since tao, kris, and luhan left. I feel like they all left pretty soon after each other almost like a domino effect and with the rumors going around so heavily at the time that exo was gonna break up or exo m were just gonna leave or other members leaving soon or fans trying to kick out members that exo worked so hard to show and beat everyone by giving us such strong and together mvs with the 9 members. I follow kris, luhan, and tao and listen to what they put out and listen to the old and new stuff exo has done and I still miss them being 12 because I can see something like monster being slade with 12 members, and lucky one too, but they slade it with them being 9 members too because they're exo, anything we think of them, good or bad, they're gonna come out and top it. like with teasers for example, you know it's gonna be good but when the mv comes out its so much better than what you were thinking. it's like that, that's what I'm trying to say. if it came out right, I'm not trying to say anything bad. I love exo and this is just my opinion. but looking through their stuff, I can just tell they've worked so hard to be so freakin good as 9 members because they don't want to let us, exo-l, down. they work so so hard because they feel like they've already let us down so we should show them they haven't let us down (: we loved them as 12 but we still love them as 9, and that's okay you know? things happen. exo-l forever

you have to watch the live performance during their comeback showcase for the EX'act album. Chen and Yixing is shown a lot more than in the video. I don't know why the stylists chose to cover Chen's face for half of the dancing sequences? It masked a lot of the emotion he put into the dancing :/

When it comes to Exo I try not to get too attached to the member count. I feel like another member could leave at any minute, perhaps Lay. I really hope not though. I hope Exo stays at 9 members for years to come.
