Jekyll first listen was a bit weird but the second time i played it on my speakers and i was never the same.Watching the live sent me to the moon.LIT RALLY! They did a very good job of showcasing jekyll showing like EXO and X-EXO like having an 'argument' in the lyrics .It grows on you trust me.

The way I've been WAITING for this video - you're my fave 1st listen channel! Karen you said it best - EXO are the Kings of KPOP and no one can change my mind. There's growth & change with every album, they're constantly exploring new sounds while still somehow giving me the pop/r&b standards I stanned them for. I've heard ppl say that it seems like 2 diff albums, but I think that just fits with the EXO/X-EXO concept. Ngl I was a little nervous about this album because I didn't know how they'd deal with Kyungsoo's absence.There are a few tracks that his vocals would've taken to the heavens, but I must say I didn't miss him as much as I thought I would. As you said, all of the members stepped up in big ways. I mean the E in EXO is for Excellence, wbk. It usually takes a while for me to pick a favorite track but not for this album - Butterfly Effect is IT. The vibe is EVERYTHING - I'm right there with you in that nice top, jean shorts and sneakers just enjoying life LOL Loved your reaction! I agree - this HAS to be their blackest album to date :D One suggestion tho - when you add those editor's notes at the bottom, please don't use a while font. It blends into your white walls and is really hard to read. :)

Yessss a lengthy EXO first listen! 2020 is already blessed! I commented on your Obsession MV reaction that Baby You Are was my favourite B-Side and it definitely still is, looking forward to hear how different or alike our opinions on the B-Sides are :D EDIT: Definitely agree with the majority of your comments! And yes, they really did serve vocals like it's nobodies business in this one. EXO and Adlibs, name a more iconic duo! The production is also totally up my alley. I think The War is still my favourite EXO album of all time, but this is definitely top 3 - WHICH SUCKS BECAUSE MY BOY D.O IS NOT ON IT! Lmao Idk if I can accurately rank the tracks, but if I had to, I'd say something along the lines of 1. Baby You Are 2. Obsession 3. Non Stop 4. Ya Ya Ya 5. Groove 6. Butterfly Effect 7. sis I LOVE how you mention the producers and writers. Absolutely yes, give credit where credit is due. I saw this video of the producers/writers who worked on EXO, they're South Koreans and black producers from America [and some from Europe as well] and I LOVE how they explained that the EXO sound is this mesh of East meets West while respecting each other's sound and style.. I KNEW YOU WERE GONNA LOVE GROOVE AND YA YA YA!!! Those were instant jams TT And above all thank you EXO for singing so beautifully in this album TT they can play with any genre and make it their own

Butterfly effect was actually written for the fans like another song called Promise. The line ‘your saving my life’ is meant to describe how the fans bring exo hope and help them get back up when they feel down

2020 could not have start any better! I love how you break down each song, this is probs my fav part of your reactions and the dancing, of course. After Exodus, this is probs my 2nd fav album they ever did. Trouble, Jekyll, Groove and Ya Ya Ya are my favourites. Love this album so freaking much. And the physical album? Still crying over it. This was randomly recommended to me and I definitely have to check out some of your other first listen and reaction videos :) My favorite b-sides on the album are Jekyll, Day After Day, Ya Ya Ya, and Non-Stop. I actually wasn't a huge fan a few of the other songs, but they've really grown on me. I think it's always better after you've listened to the album once because 1, you know a bit of what to expect and 2. the first time it's like so much at once you're trying to pick up on everything. And when I say "you" I'm pretty much meaning "me" or "I."

Yessss!!! I had the same reaction when I first listened to Day after Day. The awesomeness of EXO vocals got me speechless. That's why Day after Day is still my top 3 in this album. Groove is my favorite, very unexpected but fun and tasty.. Overall, Obsession is great. I love all songs and it shows vocal ability of some members that rarely shown. And I agree about how EXO is very versatile so they can always challenge new things and different genres... EXO definitely has 'something' that allows them to be unique as a group..

I’ve been listening to this album for weeks but you listening to it gave me a lot more appreciation for it! I would have ranked it as my least fave of theirs tbh but i think i was a bit biased bc i miss kyungsoo so much (my ultimate bias). I can’t help but think the songs lose some of their appeal without him. But yeah that’s just the way it is to me and you can def tell that the other members did their very best with this to showcase more of themselves and also fill in the gap of missing a few people. My fave song by far is Ya Ya Ya, but honestly after seeing your review i think i need to listen to some songs with fresh ears😋 i like how you really appreciate the music and production and also how genuinely you love all the members❤️❤️❤️ thank you as always!
