Yep, this song feels like they just want to escape from the life they have, even for a little bit, a bit of freedom to themselves away from the idol life, which I'm sure a lot of these idol groups yearn for too. Away from work, the fans, the constant cameras following their every move...and go anywhere...to have time to themselves to just stand in the rain and enjoy it...because the idol life I'm sure must be suffocating at times.💙🌺

The first time I heard Runaway, no lie, I bawled my eyes out. It reminded me of how I used to look out over the ocean and wonder what else there was out there and if I’d ever get to see beyond Hawaii. Everything seemed so far away and impossible. Even the music is dreamlike…even now when I hike and this song comes on, I weep. Yes, I’m hella emo. Believe me, I wish I wasn’t.

I am obsessed with this song...like I can’t get enough of hearing this song. This song is almost haunting and soulful…there are 2 other songs by EXO that does the same to me The Eve and Oasis. EXOs vocals are seamless no matter who is singing. Just love EXO ❤️❤️❤️💯

I love how I feel it's about survival. The entire album has a simple instrumental and still a no-skip album. First time I listened to RUNAWAY I cried and still it's the same. P.S.: The entire album has amazing lyrics.

Lcyaheard im not lying at all when i say this feeling you felt for this song is exactly how i felt for one of their track of their 2018 DMUMT (Tempo) album back when i just discovered EXO and just started listening to kpop in general...The track SMILE ON MY FACE and WAIT were the ones i heard with no clue of what they were singing about but i felt it, which runaway 3 years later i listen to gave me the exact same feeling. sometimes i think back to 3 years ago and i really do feel grateful to EXO's tempo song that made me dive into their album in 2018 making it the gateway into kpop for me.and if i didnt felt that feeling back then, then i have no idea what ide be doing now....ide probably never listened to more exo songs and giving kpop a chance which btw gave me a positive perspective and feeling on life in general. Exo song truly makes you feel things even before you even look at the lyrics, and idk feels like magic to me that they possess this kind of power and they deliver it so perfectly to millions of people across the world. i know i sound crazy but im not making this up at all.

You know, when it comes to exo, they easily can sing without any instrument or sound or mix and the song would slay anyways, thats why they are my fave group, their vocals takes you to another level. Every member has their voice colour and if you put them together, they make something like this. So that's why I always recommend you guys to listen all their solo works and units. Of course you might have different tastes and favouritism but is a must if you wanna know more about them. And yes, LAY has a beautiful voice, it's sad how SM treats him (well, treat exo in general) and give him 0 lines sometimes.. so, please check out every solo work from them, and enjoy the journey in the meantime! Just like how the DFTF album is a winner for me because it all feels personal in different ways. It may not be their best album but everything about the album being simply for the fans and the music being for EXO-Ls and not to win awards or even be promoted makes it special.
