Well he is part of exo (R&B heavy group)..well it was first for ballads and he does have albums full of it , so we did first started voting with actual reason , its the award shows mistake for changing it , if it was R&B since the start people would have voted for others ..(I would still vote for D.O coz i wanna give him an idea of how much he is loved for his r&B music and to finally drop an album).

why then would they raise their eyebrows when in fact since the first round of voting when it was still in the ballad category, Kyungsoo has already dominated the votings. as one those who worked hard on voting, we were also confused when the category was changed, feeling like the category was being changed to R&B to favor other artists who are really in that genre. good thing is that his fans were resilient in getting him the win for we fans know that he is also a good at R&B genre. Please take a deep dive at his discography and covers before raising your eyebrows cry babies...
